I have been wanting to check this place out for a few months now. Convinced foofaa to take me here on black friday, altho it didnít take much conniving on my part.
An interesting, albeit small, space. We arrived shortly after they opened and started in the bar area and it quickly became packed with people. We ordered a beer to pass the time as we waited for our table to become available. It didnít take very long and we were seated in the slightly larger dining room. Our servers were awesome. They helped us pick a few cheeses and we talked about where we had been that day and where we were from, they were very nice.
The quality of the food and beer was top notch. The selection of beer was pretty good. I was really looking forward to trying their blended BA saison but it was all gone, however they put a new limited belgian stout on and I got that instead. I enjoyed most of my beers but only one was really memorable, the dubbel which was very good. The real star of the show is the food. I would say that this place has some of the best food at any brewpub I have been to. The cheese plate we got was a little on the small side for what we paid for it but it was really good. I decided to go with their burger, at $15 it was the most expensive thing on the menu! I am not sure if it was worth that much but it tasted amazing so I guess it was.
Overall a VERY nice brewpub that I will definitely return to in the future. The sooner the better IMO.
The house that the brewpub is housed in is attractive though the front yard and porch need some TLC. Service for Sunday lunch was slow. Interior ambience is fine though the space is cramped. Beers were excellent within the limited range of styles available. Nice but not hangout material - pricey.
Absolutely lovely building. Attentive staff. Food was tasty. Prices and bit high and the menu was fairly small. The beers were all loaded with the types of hops that I canít stand and I ended up not liking any of them. Interesting place. I wish I liked the beer more
Quaint amazing building in a small town, feels like a mixture of a museum and your grandparents house. The beers were pretty average, all tasting basically the game regardless of ipa or saison with tons of oak and brett. Overly bitter, and not easy to drink. I really struggled through 4 tasters. Iíd come back to hang out, but not for the beers.
Located in a quaint town, I found parking to be pretty easy on a Sunday afternoon. Converted house, with some small rooms and a large outdoor area. Some music was playing on the patio, with the great weather a hell of a great vibe was created. Bartender Christine was personable, helpful and knowledgeable about the beers. Flights of 4 for $6.50, quite reasonable, and the beer quality was overall excellent. 2 bottles available to go. Overall 2 flights and 2 bottles ran $43 which I consider to be a solid value for the quality of what I got. Did not eat but the brunch menu looked tasty. Kind of a unique, special place and definitely worth a stop.
Arrived at opening. As per picture, this place is an old house, on the corner of, you guessed it, Forest and Main. I did not explore, but it looks like rooms are devoted to dining, kitchen, etc. Not sure if they brew onsite as well. The "bar room" is to the left as you enter, and is pretty tiny. I think the bar had four seats. I was the only one there at opening on Wednesday, although a couple more locals straggled in. Service was friendly and helpful. They had about 8 beers going, with a mix of English styles (real cask pours at proper temperature) and Belgian inspired saisons. Definitely using some new world hops to spice things up a bit, however. Flights of four were reasonably priced, and the beers were pretty solid. They do have bottles to go at times, Dochter Saison was available when I was there. Nice place and a good overall beer experience.
Cozy little place. Known for their world class saisons. Food looked a bit pricey, but I didnít partake. Bottle release was painless - a marvel these days. Wish they had flights available although I was told that was just because it was a beer release day. Normally they do 4 oz flights.
Beautiful location in an old two story house. The front room to the left is where you will find the bar. The other cosy rooms are for dining. I arrived bang on opening time so no problems with grabbing a seat at the bar. Forest & Main mostly focus on English and Belgian style ales, and the quality is generally very good. Itís also worth asking if they have any bottled releases in stock. Delicious snacks available and I do recommend doing yourself a favour and trying the food - itís excellent. Everyone here was extremely friendly and easy to strike up conversation with. Great value and a must visit.
An old house that is small and comfortable. Family like atmosphere, very pleasant. Service is friendly and pleasant. Beer ranges from boring to brilliant, flights available and food is a bit pricy but nice. A very good experience and ask for bottles, they donít advertise. They have a quiz night that is fun
I heard of this place yesterday, and I went to it yesterday. I am certainly glad that I did. The place is located in an old house. The bar is a small space with a few stools and a dining room has maybe seven tables in a small rustic room. Standard hipsteresque, rustic implements adorn the walls. It was a Sunday, so they were serving the Sunday dinner paired with a one-off barley wine (Telemachus). My girlfriend and I, anticipating a long drive, decided not to get a massive Sunday dinner and instead opted for lighter beers and a lighter dinner. The food was pretty expensive, but it was certainly tasty. However, the relatively inexpensive beer made up for the price. A glass of beer was between $4.50 and $7.00. Fortunately, the beer was excellent. I had all the English-style beers, and each was excellent. The waitress was attentive and very friendly. She also was able to talk freely about the beer and the brewery. The place was relatively quiet when I was there, but it wasnít dead. The music that was playing was to my liking. Everything was in place. With eight beers on tap, I think that the selection is pretty good, since most people have never had a single one. This is especially true because they come in a number of diverse styles.
