Might well be the smallest brewery in Kent but they have good beer. They do sell some other things but stick to their casks and taps. Food is good, beer is better. Old Foundry building in a small street. Quite good value. Definitely a place to return to.
Very nice place, loved the hops hanging everywhere and the beers ranked by IBUS on the wall. Was astonished that it was basically empty on the weekend I was visiting Canterbury and I was there on Saturday evening. Beer selection is not very impressive but still it is not hard to find something to suit difrferent tastes.

We visited The Foundry Brewpub, Friday 11th March 2016 however en route my phone (O2 reception) was really struggling to pick up any decent signal in the centre of town so it took us a while to find this place. It was driving me a little mad trying to recall where this place was and I eventually had to go to the O2 shop to pick up free WiFi and check out the places section on Ratebeer, now some might think that I should have already done this and I will counter that I had done earlier in the day as I am usually prepared but on checking my RB places map again, all places had mysteriously disappeared and reception had been desperate grrrr.....Anyway back to the actual place, this was another Canterbury spot that we’d already been to with Ian (Harrisoni) a few years back but another that I had neglected to rate back then. Btw it is situated off of small lane off of the main drag, once you have familiarised yourself with the centre of town it is actually not that hard to find.
You sort of enter by the side/back via a concrete patio area, bit strange really, I would set it out slightly differently, but perhaps this is not possible? Inside it is a mid sized square/rectangular room with the Brewing kit shoehorned into the far RH corner near the bar. Despite the relatively small size of this place and the time of day (mid afternoon) there were three staff on shift two of whom seemed to spend much of their time twiddling fingers or chatting to punters, we chatted about this, contrasting it with a couple of the bars we were in yesterday in Kortrijk, particularly Gainsbar one member of staff on own doing everything. We were also amused to see them wearing ear pieces to communicate with colleagues, this seemed rather pointless in a bar so small, ok they may need to communicate with the chef upstairs to arrange for food to be sent down but bouncer)security style earpieces, mmhhh... it seemed a little OTT.
These was a decent selection on tap with 10 keg 6 handpumps, Loz had Founders Centennial, I had their own Sour Cherry, oak aged both were good. Like I said it isn’t a huge place, eight tables in total, though to be fair there were a few in here, however it looked liked some had eaten. I think that it is fine here, no great shakes but fine enough. Btw it appears that there is also a selection of their bottled beers in the fridge by the door as you enter, including some limited editions and rarer numbers, I guess that these would also be available for take away purposes.
Loved this place!
A pub with the brewery at the bar, or near as dammit - Staff knowledgeable, polite and patient.
All pumps available, with a wide range of craft too.
Stop food early in the evening at the beginning of the week, and did find it a little pricey?
Definitely will be a place to take some CAMRA colleagues for the day....
The best place in Canterbury to have some beers with good food. A very good selection of own beers. All of the beers are in a good condition.
Excellent brewery, excellent pub and excellent staff. Thanks Alana, Paul, Simon, Belle, Flash & Co.
I’ll be back (18-20.7.2013).

Great little place in the middle of Canterbury’s shopping centra. Nice place with some tables outside. Inside a nice view of the small brewery, cozy, nice wall deco with the basics of brewing explained. Great staff. Awesome place.
A modern brewpub making a combination of modern and traditional ales (i.e. finally some real hoppy beers). Good beers, nice selection, friendly staff and good food. Centrally placed in the middle of town this is a beer oasis after a week with traditional cask ales in the Kent district. Highly recommended.
