Visited on a jumpin’ Sunday night (it didn’t seem like many restaurants in this neighborhood were open on Sunday) and were led to the only open table. Waiter Justin insisted on bringing a 2-oz sample before he’d bring a pint (very thoughtful). Families and couples among the clientele. Both beers I had were well above average. Our soup, sandwiches and sides were all delicious. Not a huge selection of in-house brews (nine, as I recall) but also a full bar with nice top-shelf selections. Convenient street parking and a lot across the street. Well worth the stop.
MOre a restaurant to me. 8 of their own beers on tap, tried 2 (driving) and they were OK. Not outstanding. Hard to get attentin of service and they don’t try anything extra with me being a foreigner. Good quality of food. Quite busy but then it was a Saturday evening.
At first, I was worried that they were out of business, the front of the place is pretty inconspicuous and is pretty much the only thing on the block. Once inside though, it’s a classy looking old timey pub atmosphere. I was in the area for business, but it seems like a pretty popular watering hole. The staff was friendly and attentive. The bartender was pretty excited to talk beer, although they were pretty busy at the time, so we didn’t get to too much chatting. They had eight taps going of palatable beer; although I had to knock them one point on selection for the fact that I saw people ordering and drinking Michelob Ultra. Shame on Front Street for stocking Michelob (they have so much better to offer) and shame on the customers for ordering it. The food was quite tasty - one of the best chicken tortilla soups I’ve ever had, and a really tasty mahi mahi sandwich on ciabatta bread. Eight samples of beer plus a sandwich for just about $20 - I was pretty happy about that.
A perfectly nice brewpub I stopped into a few months back. The service was freindly, the beer was good, and the food was decent. It’s a nice little place, very low key, old school, brew pubby. I liked it and I’d go back.
Great fish tacos is the best thing I can say about this place. The beer is rather boring and nothing special. Service is usually good and the bartenders are friendly. It is a nice place to stop before going to the casino, but if you’re looking for good beer go across the river to IL and get some good craft on tap.
