kermis (551) The Hague / Amsterdam , Netherlands | May 25, 2017
Huge place near the cathedral with terrace seating outside. It’s fairly busy due to the location but still no problem finding a seat in such a big place. Beer selection is their Kolsch plus a couple of bottles such as their non alcoholic kolsch. Food was decent, standard German stuff which always makes the kermis happy.
Very big place close to the central train station. Many rooms on different levels. We were in a long narrow "room" between the ground floor and the underground cellar room (the one with the kitchen). Service was fast, not "friendly" but good. Only one beer, if I remember correctly, their kolsch, which I didnt like. Food was OK. Prices were OK too.
Visited on Sunday 13th December 2015 as last stop. Huge venue near the dom, Kolsch dispensed from wooden barrels. Lots of rooms to sit in but place was closing slowly so snuck in a quick thimble full of kolsch. Prices were good, beer OK. It’s a lovely old venue but not one I need to go back to.
This place is huge, you can spend some time just walking around, discovering more and more rooms. At the time of our visit most of them were empty, so it felt a bit weird. Interior is modest, not much going on in term of decorations. But it’s not what you came there for. Only one beer served, as usual. And not very good one, it’s ok for thirst quenching, better than water. We came there for food, and that was very good - typical German food, simple, fresh and well done.
Interesting feature - you cannot pay by card, but there is a cash machine in the basement.
Good place to eat, not so much to drink
Piwiarnia i browar. Dobry klimat i lokalizacja. Fruh Kolsch tylko dostepny jeden. Szybka i sprawna obsluga oraz nalewanie piwa do klasycznych waskich malych szklanek. Fruh z beczki nieco lepszy od wersji butelkowej ktora dawno temu pilem. Wystruj to drewniane stoly i kelnerzy w dlugich fartuchach roznoszacy piwo na tackach. Brewpub ten tetni zyciem nawet o takiej porze roku.
