A huge place that seems to be always packed, but still manages to appear traditional. Service is busier than at other Kölsch places, but if you know Cologne you know but that is still fast for international standards. Price for the Kölsch is not bad. Nothing special.
This place is quite huge, with many rooms, all with a different feel to them, plus a basement Keller with a cozier feel. Outdoor seating spans their own store front plus a couple adjacent bars, and always seems full. Service is solid considered how busy they are. Really hopping on a Monday night. Food is solid, mainly German staples. It’s hard to rate places in Germany because of the selection score. Maybe I just need to inflate that until the total reflects my experience....
Very big multi room taphouse with a traditional German feel to it, wooden floors, tables and chairs, lots of different seating groups caring for both large groups and couples, absolutely cramped at my visit, but we experienced fast and polite service. Also got a big airy patio, which seems to be crowded at all times during the day. Excellent place, and a must visit.
Very busy place next to the Dom. Plenty of seating areas inside, however we decided to sit outside in the sun. Food was available and looked reasonably priced, but not tried. Service was not as prompt as the other Kolsh bars.
Visited monday 2nd March .. Very big And very close to the amazing cathedral always busy both for location a popularity .. Even if a touristic place still mantein a traditional feeling .. Fresh kolsch from wood barrels is served costantly and and the quality is better here than in any other place .. I remember I had the food here 3 years ago and was good but I will not give any point in this review because I did not have it this time .. A must visit place if In town ..
Visited on a Wednesday early afternoon. Large touristical place very close to the train station. Nice interior. Service was ok, but nowhere near friendly. Only one beer available (Früh Kölsch) and it’s probably the worst Kölsch in Cologne so it can’t score high for the selection. We didn’t try the food. Price (1.80 euros / 20 cl) were a bit higher than other Kölsch places in town. Unless you want to try all the Kölsch brewpubs, you can skip this one.
