When I visited: Easter Weekend 2013.
What I had: Bell’s Consecrator Doppelbock and Short’s Hopstache Ale on draught, Texas-style brisket, pulled pork and chicken, jalapeno mac & cheese, cornbread, a couple sauvignon blancs for the lady.
What I liked: laid back and inviting atmosphere, worn-brick-on-wood decor suits the BBQ theme well, lots of space between tables, quick and affable service, small but carefully selected beer menu, phenomenal smokehouse fare, excellent prices.
What I disliked: 7 taps, one cask, and a limited bottle list make this more of a beer-friendly restaurant than a top-notch beer bar, but there’s really nothing to dislike about this place.
Would I go back? Absolutely.
