Pros: They have small bottles of Chimay white and red and a few (literally) good offerings from Youngs and Coopers. If you buy in quantity, they offer a small discount. Cons: The staff is often impatient and curt, and supplies of the few good beers diminishes rapidly. The number of offerings is poor, and the pricing is exploitative, even accounting for the conversion of NZ dollars ($5.20 NZ per 330ml bottle of Chimay, with a discount). They also do not offer full sized bottles of Chimay or even pint bottles of Guinness, which is unfortunate; but what’s worse is that they lack truly hoppy or complex American beer (Epic doesn’t come close enough). In sum, I don’t think Kiwis have much range when it comes to beer appreciation. They have Chimay (their saving grace), but that’s about it for top of the line offerings (Youngs and Coopers are good -- though they don’t stack up to top American micros).
UPDATE: They discontinued their Chimay line because it wasn’t selling enough. Now the supermarket, Foodtown, has more to offer. Pathetic.
