Really enjoyed everything about this place...solid year round beers and a few great seasonals, WAY better than average pub food, and lots of room with a great friendly atmosphere. The neighborhood is boring, but this place rocks.
Cant believe I missed this one. They were very gracious hosts of ours for RBSG LA. Since then they’ve switched brewers (Viktor Novak from Taps is now there) and the beer has changed a bit. It’s a cool venue for a number of reasons. First off it’s large and holds a lot of people, as it needs to because its very busy. Second, they have no less than a dozen taps going so you can try all kinds of stuff including the occasional experiments and barrel aged variants. Also, the drive in is comical. On this street are a brewery, a strip club, and a plumbing supply store. Quality.
The beers all around are decent to good. Minus the one tequila barrel beer I haven’t had any really bad ones. Certainly the IPAs are improving and I’m past due for a return visit to see what they’ve been up to (beyond what get distributed around town).
Big brewery and pub area. Mostly GR taps with a few guests. 2 sample flights available, rest on full pours. pretty tasty food, good fries, pulled pork, tostada salad. grapefruit saison, gingerbread stout were cool. small cooler for cans to go.
Nice place placed right beside the brewery on the Rail road..Some out door seating and a dog area..I sat inside at a table as the bar was full, Plenty of tables open for seating..Very good service..Very tasty beers as always..The real deal was the food. I got the soft shell crab sammich and it was amazing..I cant wait to go back on my next trip to the LA area.
Good-sized shed with tables, a bar, and a concrete outdoor porch thing (which borders on the parking lot. You be you, LA.) Good list of Golden Road beers, half a dozen guest taps. Food is average, beer quality is what Golden Road is. Still, really nice venue.
Wow is this place hopping! Parking is a bit of a bitch, but once you accomplish that feat its all good. Tons of seating indoors and out, fairly large bar. Not really what I would call upscale. Lots of corrugated sheet metal going on, but it works for what it is. Basic bar food menu with decent prices. My food was pretty mediocre, but certainly edible. They have a dozenish beers on tap, including a bunch of taproom specials at any time. They will only provide two "standard" four glass flight - the IPA flight and the non-IPA flight. I got the non-IPA flight (which had Point the Way IPA on it :)). Service was actually quite good, no worries there at least for us. Beers, unfortunately, were fair to middlin, but the places gets a thumbs up for vibe and attitude.
Loud and lively, but a very positive vibe. Very good beer, and a nice selection of product that can’t be found in a store. Food is decent and the prices are better than I expected, but the service, good Lord, who do these people think they are? I’ve been here four times, and each time, no matter if I’m at the bar, at a table, or just buying a four-pack, I felt like I had to apologize for taking up so much of their time. I had a beer poured one finger short, waited 20 minutes for table service, and watched as a fellow patron at the bar was rudely ignored by the bartender as he tried too order a beer. Sure, the beer is good, but I’m way too old to put up with that nonsense.
Huge area for dining inside or out with cornhole too. Lively menu with house Beers galore, limited guess taps. The train shocked me the first time with horn. Service was outstanding, considering it’s was packed. Crappy parking though. The brews I sampled an ipa flight with a couple freebies where above average range. Fun place to go, problem was 4-pack 11.99, but at Total Wine was 9.99 WTF, fix that.
Fun place with loads of seating options and a bunch of great beers. The beers have vastly improved and the selection is wide. Great hoppy options especially.
BRING BACK HEAL THE BAY IPA
Take the tour, it’s an impressive place.
