Visited late evening, not as crowded as I expected but still plenty of people. Wooden interior, big bar that looks good to sit around, some tables on the back. I don’t remember the tap list but it was nothing interesting, otherwise I’d remember I guess. Bottle list was nothing special either, mostly belgian beers and some local dutch ones, I had their own beer here plus another from a bottle, good atmosphere, too much light though. Prices on the high side.
Cozy, small, rather dark and old-fashioned bar with lots of wooden interior. Seating is placed around the bar and at the tables in the back. A bit more than a dozen taps with a rather bland selection plus an extensive list of allegedly 200 bottles. Focus is heavily on Belgians, especially the classic ones, accompanied by a few Dutch micros and a handful of classic German beers. This is definitely not your tick-heaven but a very broad and complete collection of Belgiums beer heritage. The staff is attentive and very helpful, the prices are rather high, even for Amsterdam standards. I thought it is way too warm in there by the way.
Small, smelly and charming place. Visited on a saturday afternoon, enormously crowded but that’s to be expected. Nice selection of mostly Belgian beers and some Dutch craft. Not too exciting for the Dutch beer geek looking for new beers, but the beers served are dependable and of high quality. They serve two pretty good house ales brewed by Muskeers. I’ll probably revisit one day for the atmosphere.
Based on frequent visits. Old fashioned pub, like it. Mainly Belgian beers, which I also like. I hate the modern Dutch beer snob who is only drinking beer for the last couple of years and denies the fact that the Belgians have an outstanding beerhistory. So, over here good Belgian beer in an easy going atmosphere and friendly staff. Prices ok
These guys know their stuff. I’ll never understand the "they focus too heavily on Belgian beers" complaint because there are scores of bars in Amsterdam that serve Dutch beers. The atmosphere is unmatched and the service is always knowledgable and helpful.
