Not a bad liquor store. It’s nice that it was centrally located in downtown. Has a good selection of great Midwestern beers (local option, three floods, boulevard smokestacks, etc.) No mix and matchers but the staff was pretty helpful.
If this is the best place that Indianapolis has to offer, they’re in need of some serious help in these parts. I can’t say that the store "sucked", but I can say that it I was quite under-whelmed. For example, there was not a single 6-pack on a Three Floyds mainstay. They had, maybe, 5 bottles of different Three Floyds beers. As far as other local beers are concerned, they had a few random Sun King brews, which was nice. They had some other Midwest stuff here, too, but nothing mind blowing. Surprisingly, they had quite a few things that I can get back in Seattle. I will admit, their European selection was pretty nice. There’s, essentially, one row of bottles, and one row of beer in coolers. I will say that I was able to find things to buy, obviously, but again, for this being as highly rated as it is, I expected a little more. Service was nice, but I didn’t get any help; however, I don’t really need it Prices seemed fine, if not just slightly higher than other places.
I really liked this place. Quite good selection of both small and large bottles, with some relatively rare stuff. For anyone into European beer, they have a great selection of that. They even had Närke here (although not Stormaktsporter)! I like how you can take singles of everything and the staff was very friendly and helpful, really taking the time to try to find some special stuff for me.
Dropped in while I was in town for family stuff. Great selection, great ambiance, prices were about average -- came away with some Dieu de Ciel I’m excited about, some local stuff, and some Swedish beer. Staff was helpful, but I can’t say they were overly knowledgeable; I think I might have just hit a bad patch, though. Overall, quite impressive.

Great selection, good organization on shelves and in coolers, lots of local Indiana stuff. There were three staff-- one new guy trying his best, one awesome beer guy, and one mouth-breathing moron. So I’m giving service a 7 because we had to work our way up to the awesome beer guy, who saved this place from getting a 4 for service! Anyway, for out-of-towners, this is certainly a worthwhile stop.
Good sized liquor store. Fair bit of indy beers (and shockingly little three floyds)., against the grain, shoreline, fat heads, etc. among more notable non locals. fairly good selection for indy. Staff was able to tell me what was fresh and what wasnt, and most of the ipas are in the fridge.
Stopped here while in Indianapolis on business. Smaller store with a great look and feel to it. A bit cramped, but space is at a premium in a downtown location. Based on reviews, I was expecting to find more, but really was not overwhelmed by the place. Its nice enough, but I imagine there is better in the area. Great spot if you are downtown though and looking for something better than cheap macro beer. Prices seemed very high, but maybe its the norm for Indy.
My rating may be a bit higher than for a "regular" since this was the one place I stopped to pick up some local beers to take back to Chicago while vacationing in Indy for a long weekend. They had a great local selection of city breweries, Indiana and Ohio beers. The selection of the usual non-local stuff as OK, but not great. Had a very large selection of bombers. Almost all of the 6 packs were refrigerated, which is a big plus for an IPA fan. Parking can be a royal pain in the ass, though there are plenty of parking lots and garages nearby.
Was in town yesterday to pick up a Craigslist purchase, stopped by here on the recommendation of Ratebeer. The place has a solid selection, but for being the top-rated beerspot in Indianapolis, I was disappointed. It’s a downtown liquor store, and you definitely get that vibe. They were willing to let me pull single bottles out of sixpacks, but they seemed a little annoyed about that (seems like a very rare occasion that someone comes in and gets a case of singles, here). I wasn’t rushed, though, and the service was decent. Good selection of locals that I’ve never seen before, and nice solid selection of imports.. I was excited to pick up a BrewDog Tokio*, I’ve been searching for that one for a while. Single bottles were marked up slightly, everything else seemed to be retail. Overall, solid. If nothing else, there’s guaranteed to be a bomber here that is new to you if you’re visiting from out of town. But I’m not convinced that this is the best Indy has to offer, next time I’ll be trying a different beer store
