Pe4fect ambiance and beer selection ( even some really special bottles such as chimay’s barrel aged quads are available)...unfortunately it is really-really expensive - what is absolutely acceptable in Norway, but still a fact.
This place has a chain brewpub feel to it, but a lot of old wood and architecture to balance things out. Some outdoor seating in the front. Brewing equipment on display. Hard to get a full taplist; printed menu has the core beers only, rest need to be mostly read off the tap handles; there is a chalkboard but it too is incomplete. No flights, but small pours available (10cl and 25cl for most beers). OK service; not bad or anything, but certainly less on the ball than I experienced in the country for the most part. Long periods of time went by when there was literally nobody behind the bar. I thought the beer quality was pretty solid overall, and there was a good variety; a lot must have happened in the week since the previous review. Did not try the food, but this is a place I would happily recommend.
Had a great selection of beers on tap! I have no idea how many beers we tasted but we were there for over five hours! The brewer even allowed us to check out his brewing setup. I was very surprised to see him using Beer Smith in his brewing process. Food was good and plenty room at the bar. Next time I’m in Oslo I would definitely go back.
As the new editing rights have failed to load the opening times, they kick off at 11.00 Mo-Fr, 12.00 on Sa, 13.00 on Su nad stay open till midnight, some days later. Despite the address it is 50 metres off Stortingsgata up Roald Amundsen gata. A brewpub cum specialist beer bar, with sports action, sadly - though the whole system was down on my visit so conversation was in the ascendant. Acceptable home brews and an eclectic collection of other beers from the bottle - though 250 sounded optimistic and there were quite a few also rans.
Nice bar close to the Oslo station.
Got about 9 of their brews avail in samplers for a cost of around 30Nok a beer most being quite tasty or decent without any of them leaving a bad memory. Did not try the food. Sat at the bar as it was a bit too warm outside.
Friendly service by Magnus who offered detailed explanations of the beers. Even went for a few more beers to Crowbar after my visit.
I heard their bottle selection is rather lengthy and well sported.
