Nice to have a local store that stocks a decent selection. Prices are decent. Have asked a few times for specific beers and was never offered the option to have it ordereed for me, that kind of surprises me for a specialty place.

Really disappointed the Londonderry store is being sold/given away the three great employees (Terry and Dan are my favorites) you have there will be out of a job in less than a month because the person taking over is going to run the store all by themselves for maximum profit. I used to love your place, but I don’t think I can support a place that doesn’t take care of it’s awesome employees. Especially since all of them NEED this job in order to survive in this tough economy. There’s other beer stores, with the same amount of selection and price, I will no longer be giving my business to Barb’s starting March 1st when all the employees get fired, so her daughter can work 68 hours a week to make the most money. So sad.

I stopped here the other day because I was in the area and hadn’t been yet. First off it is a little tricky to get to, you can see it from rt 102 but you have to pass it up and take a right onto rt 128 and take the first right, drive down the road and its a right into the parking lot. If you can make your way to MR Steer you’ll find it, it’s right in front. Pick up some marinated steak tips while your there too. The selection is really good, they seem to carry most of what is available in NH. Curiously missing were White Birch, Squam Brewing, and Throwback that I noticed. Lots of singles, a walk in beer cave, etc. They have a small selection of food and condiments as well as some home brew stuff. Service was ok I guess. The young kid that was there said hi to me when I walked in. He didn’t engage me any further and I didn’t ask much of him either. Pricing seemed a bit high to me. 11 dollars for a four pack of hinterland or sixpoint, 7.50 for a smutty big beer. 10 bucks for smutty six packs, etc Honestly if I lived in the area I might stop in, but then again I could travel a bit further to the Beer Store, Jaspers, or the Drinkery for a more reasonably priced and probably better selection.

The beer business is booming for Barb as she opened her second store near the Londonderry-Derry, NH town lines in July 2011. Similar to her first store in Concord, she makes a concerted effort to sell as many of the craft labels that are available in New Hampshire. There are almost no macros here. It isn’t necessary because you can buy those at any convenience store in any town. Tastings occur once per week on Thursdays (public rest room available). Singles are stored in coolers while the six and twelve packs are refrigerated in in Barb’s Beer Cave...a walk-in cooler. In the center of the store there are the dry shelves. I visited a few weeks after the store opened so she was still building up her inventory but I expect it will be the beer store of choice for this area when everything is in place. The staff are fairly knowlegeable and Barb bounces between this one and her store in Concord a few days per week. Some of the labels include: Smuttynose, Sam Adams, Sebago, and Shipyard (they don’t all start with the letter S). But it’s location is not front and center so keep your eyes peeled. It is located in the plaza where the locally reknowed Mr. Steer butcher shop is but it’s tad off the main road.
