Visited 27th March 17. Went in for the advertised Maximator, the bar is lovely, lots of wood and atmosphere, the lady serving was fun, I asked for a small Maximator, she said the half litre is the small one, at 7% this is fairly heavy going. It is a nice place, the Maximator was not so great, but worth a try in nice typical surroundings.
Grande e classica birreria tedesca piena di posti a sedere e servizio sbrigativo ma professionale, ovviamente si serve solo birre della casa che comunque sono le meno peggio delle grandi sorelle in città , cibo tradizionale ben fatto
This was probably my favorite stop in Munich. The beer hall is wonderfully cozy and atmospheric. The high vaulted ceilings and light wood touches lend a comfortable vibe. Hops hang from the wall, the bar looks like it has been fashioned from an old kettle. Unlike the more central beer halls, the Braustuben wasn’t overcrowded or noisy during my visit. Service was pleasant and efficient. The schnitzel was excellent. Liter pours of Edelstoff went down real easily. Overall, a highly recommended place.
Close to the original brewery and in the original and historical building. you can see the horse-drawn carriage that takes the beer in its wooden barrels. Beautiful wooden bierhaus, has also on the top for the summer a small place. A lot of copper is used and it’s very nice. Food is good and everything is well priced. Also, you can buy some Augustiner merchandise and glassware. Service is quick but not very friendly though.
We visited the ’original’Augustiner on 2.1.2016, definitely worth to be our first beer place in 2016. Located not far from the famous Theresien Wiesen this is the true Augustiner beer restaurant. Bräustuben has been perfectly decorated - dried hops hanging down from the ceiling, a tap house looking like a huge brew kettle and wooden tables and benches creating the right traditional beer culture. Service was slightly above Munich average (which is still bad). Highlight for sure is the Edelstoff from the wooden barrel for ’only’ 2.75 €. Overall a Must visit in Munich.
