Quite a small but nice looking place. They have about 6 changing taps with mostly stuff from the UK and Scandinavia and new Dutch beers. Lots of IPA’s, and even BA Imperial Stouts. They seem to really focus on quality beers. Good bottle selection too, with some bottles you don’t see often. Prices are OK, it’s not cheap, but no place in Den Haag is.

They have live jazz (old grey white people jazz when I was there) from 21:00, so if you want to just enjoy the beers be sure to visit early.

This is the place that I liked the most in Den Haag. Small place, visited at opening on a work day, totally deserted. They seem to have plenty of concerts here, jazz but music while I was there was sadly largely commercial radio. Quite an interesting tap list including the likes of Siren & Beavertown. Beer list had the likes of Freigeist & I found an Irish sour completely unknown to me. Nice. Some of the beers were quite expensive but beer in general is pricey in the Netherlands. Owners appeared to be from the UK. Over pricey, not the biggest but quite interesting beer selection. Must be nice when there is live music here.

Quiet small bar, on busy corner. Near empty and slow pace atmosphere being here at opening time. There’s a stage for live music. Small but good taplist, omnipollo, beavertown and 3 siren beers currently, two of which are top 50 in their respective style. There’s also bottles but I have no need for more right now! Bartender poors good looking glasses, well done.

Small (well there’s a surprise in the Netherlands), cosy and not recommended late evening unless you have a love of jazz. Beer range is quite impressive for the area (6 Siren beers on when I visited), decent range of Dutch bottles, prices are reasonable. The best option in the centre-ish of Den Haag.

I visited this place a few times, it’s becoming more and more interesting, with its 7 rotating taps that get changed quite frequently, and feature new and interesting craft beer from breweries like Omnipollo, Magic Rock, The Kernel, Wild Beer, Amager and others. The bottle selection is OK, and the whiskey list is quite extensive, for those that are interested. 2 fixed taps with Murphy’s Red and Murphy’s Stout. Food-wise, I have only tried the stew, but it was quite good, and very cheap, too.

Based on 2 visits. Jazzy bar with nice music, a good atmosphere and the owner knows his stuff. A surprisingly good range of beers, tap and bottles: Local but also Beavertown, Uiltje, Struise, The Kernel, Magic Rock ao. Great snacks to go with it. This will be my new regular spot to visit when I’m in Den Haag. Must visit. Prices cheap to ok.

Visited here a while back. Small, cozy place just outside the main city center of The Hague. Interior is jazzy, hopefully you’ll know what I mean by that. Owner knows his beers and is also familiar with RateBeer, so he knows what’s hot and not. Music is fine, atmosphere is great. They have a decent bottle list without any surprises, but certainly interesting stuff and always some new ticks.

Great place with live music, a good (and growing) selection of bottles, 6 changing beers on tap and a big selection of snacks, some of them home made.

kermis  (430) Where the wild whales are, Netherlands | October 5, 2014| Updated May 9, 2016
A small bar that’s always had some decent bottles available but is gradually growing with more from local breweries and others of interest. There’s also a good rotation on the taps, and more taps being added since I first reviewed. The owners are friendly and there’s a lot of live jazz events. It’s not a tickers paradise, but it is a good place where you can enjoy some nice beers at a reasonable price. Food is mostly on the snacks side but with some good warm snacks as well as a very cheap stew.

Update 9th May 2016: The tap selection is now a lot better and this has become my favourite place to grab interesting beers in the Hague that you won’t find anywhere else. While the selection is not huge, it is interesting and the quality is high.

Old brown interior mixed with jazzy victorian style. Not much people inside, although it was friday afternoon. Jazzy music on the background. Not the best range of beers, but a couple uncommon ones available. Seems like a good local bar.
