A spillover place from the big Hofbrauhouse across the street. The beer was nice and so was the pretzel. The service was slow and not to friendly.

The place was crowded and loud but has the ambiance of a German beer hall and is a stone throw from Marienplatz. The Ayinger pub around the corner is quieter and has a better beer selection.

Pleasant enough old style pub, Augustiner beers, obviously. Location obviously makes it a bit tourist/visitor heavy. Man behind the bar had an enormous derby, enjoyed that. It’s a pub...

We have been here end of September 2015. Nice beer restaurant, typical Munich style. Augustiner beers are the best in town and food was good too (we had the Käse Spätzle, seems grilled chicken is the speciality), located close to HB, therefore quite crowded with tourists.

They have the Helles from the wooden keg, which is the main reason to go here. Rather small and more local-feeling than you would expect for the neighborhood.

Large place (2 stories) across from the gigantic hofbrauhaus. We had the shittiest service I ever had in my life I believe - we were automatically taken by the waitress as a group of american freshmen coming here to get wasted. She brought us 1l mugs right off the bat (which didn’t happen anywhere else, for those who might think this is the Munich norm) and made the longest possible face when we asked for different beers which we ended up not getting. It was a stupid place and a stupid time. Will not return, ever.

Super tiny Augustiner bar, overshadowed by the Hofbräuhaus, but still good, none-the-less. Great beer, fantastic service. but it was REALLY small.

As far as pubs go this is a jice dark aged place. You can feel like nothing has changed in 100 years. The beers are limited in selection. No bottles from what I could see but the food was very nice. Staff didnt really care unless you were a regular. Nonetheless a nice old pub

I went there during my pubcrawling. I had a liter of their dunkel, which I never found in Rome and I tasted their leberknodelsuppe, which was well done. A bit touristy place.
