Incredible range of Belgian beers that includes interesting offerings and which is supplemented with UK and US. Staff very friendly and helpful. Relaxed atmosphere. Walls decorated with mostly Belgian memorabilia. It has a beer garden. We had the burger which was a bit too intense; the black pepper, union, salt and mustard seeds inside was overwhelming. We saw quite a few nice pizzas passing by with fresh leaves on top. Bottles a tad pricey and food priced ok.

Visited in February 2016 on our day trip from Newcastle. A modern bar with a buzzing atmosphere nestled in a courtyard just out of the city centre. Doing a good trade with a youngish crowd early on a midweek evening. Clearly the place to be for the beer-focussed cognoscenti of Durham. There are three of four cask beers, a number of kegs and a quite extensive bottle lists of mainly Belgian and American beers, although there wonít be anything too exotic or unfamiliar for hard core RBers. The range wouldnít be especially exciting in any of the big cities with a strong beer scene but, in Durham, itís one of ther few games in town.

A modern bar tucked away off North Road. Itís wrapped around a small courtyard and looks as if itís been developed and expanded organically. It was buzzing with a youngish cosmopolitan crowd when we visited and the staff seemed knowledgeable. The beer choice was quite good - five casks, a few kegs and a long, international bottle list chalked up on the wall. (Visited 10 February 2016).

On the western side of the River Wear, close to the actual weir and still the city centre, this pub part of a chain with the same name is in an attractive courtyard area just off the shopping street that heads towards the railway viaduct. Itís a twin floored pub in a converted barn type building with the main action happening on the ground floor area both inside and out, although if the weather is good the upstairs veranda will certainly attract a crowd too. Inside the decor edges closer to an American bar design than anything traditionally British, however the drinks available in cask, keg and bottles are mainly from home shores with craft brewers well represented throughout the various options.

American diner type bar not far from Durham station. Three taps with cask ales and a large selection of bottles beers including Belgium and American craft breweries. Food also served and was getting good feedback. Bottles are abit pricey, but a place worth seeking out.

Fantastic beer lovers bar in Durham with a really good selection of bottles, mostly from the USA and Belgium. A good selection on tap too as well as 3 handpumps dispensing local real ale. The bottle arenít cheep, but you get what you pay for.
