Being a sister it has all the tell-tale signs of the Earl of Essex in Islington and the Mermaid in nearby Clapton (which I have added to Ratebeer). Usual good choice of beers local and foreign. Plus several bottles and cans.

Small pub just one block away from the main street, but it already breathes a lot more quietness and slower pace. Seems to really be your local pub. Reasonable draft and cask selection and some very nice stuff on bottle/can as well. Dont know how quickly it rotates, but I liked the atmosphere a lot (although even on an early friday afternoon).

Quite a simple, a bit offroad pub. Very surprising taplist, and surprising stuff in their fridge (for instance, Perennial when we were there). They have small pours and the service is quick. We had quite some fun here.
Kings Arms is tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Bethnal Green Road down Buckfast St. It is equidistant between Bethnal Green Tube station and Shoreditch High Street Overground. It is a fine looking Victoria boozer than has nice local vibe going down. They have about 20 or so draught lines (keg & cask) that cover some of London and the UKs finest breweries as well as those further afield. There is also a rather nice bottle selection. The pub is well-known for some ludicrous tap-takeovers & meet-the-brewers from top dogs like Crooked Stave, Other Half, Mikkeller and Jester King. A top London beer venue and makes for a nice tour if you work your way along Bethnal Green Road up towards Mother Kelly’s et al or back down towards BrewDog.

Lovely pub. Not very crowded when we visited. Pretty dark inside. Good selection. Prairie bomb on tap! Also a good bottle list. A must visit.
