The uptown location of the Bulldog is a comfortable neighborhood bar with decent options for beer and food. The servers and bartenders deal with a lot of awful customers here, so they are quick to categorize you as such if you do not choose your words and demeanor carefully when ordering. The food is above average bar food, though below the quality level of the NE location; the menus are not the same. The beer list is generally a little out datedly heavy on unpopular Belgian selections, but overall the size and quality of the list is good. They do still get special events from time to time because of their long tenure as a beer bar in Minneapolis. One of the only craft beer-focused places in the city that has an industry night; sundays.

I prefer this Bulldog, still can get busy but has a better more cozy vibe. Nice tap selections and they host some excellent events. Food is really good and staff is friendly. Can also get crowded on the weekends, decent happy hour.
Looking for a fun, little dive bar in Uptown. Then The Bulldog is your spot. Small bar that gets filled up pretty easliy after 5-6pm everyday. Several Belgian beers on tap and in bottle. God tap selection, including Surly which you can’t get at every bar in MN. If you are eating, go with a burger or hot dog, they are awesome. Service I have had from great to not so good, so relax and have a good time no matter what happens. Bell’s night is always fun too.
Fun place to go to. You’ll find some great beer on tap that is hard to find at many other bars. Especially if you’re not used to having a good selection. Service is great. You can find everything out on their website.
A tiny bar in the heart of Uptown. Not the largest tap or bottle selection, but the service is always friendly. usually a Cantillon or 2 on the bottle menu. Food is slightly better than average. A small and caged in patio out front seems a bit claustrophobic at times with the usual Uptown drunkenness on weekend nights. A nice place to chill on a warm fall afternoon though. Nothing spectacular, but if you’re in walking distance, worth a stop.
This place was packed on a thursday night. We found a spot right away and got good service. They had a decent tap selection. The day we went was $2 off bells, so I stuck with two hearted. They had a bunch of easy to find belgians on tap, which I would have tried if bells wasn’t so cheap and delicious. The food was damn good bar food, and very reasonably priced. I’d come back again.
I really enjoyed the atmosphere here. Everyone was very open and into their own thing. They have a few decent brews on tap and the food is good as well. There are of course better bars to go to if beer selection is what you’re looking for.
Best beer selection in Minny. Service is supurb without being frumpy. Food is excellent, American classics, priced right. Beer choices are right on, nice mix of American and European. It’s about time this happened in the Twin Cities. "No big deal" attitude puts this place over the top!!
