Crowded bar in an old building by the pedestrian street. Fairly crowded at our visit a friday afternoon, but we still managed to get a place to sit. 20 taps including 2 cask beers, some local, ugly duck, indslev, some international, Omnipollo, Thornbridge, Weird Beard, etc. Fairly good selection across styles. Some nice bottles aswell. Fast service, slightly high prices.
Visited a Saturday night so the place was absolutely stuffed. In the centre of Odense at the pedestrian street. Old fashioned looking place with wooden interior, looks like nothing has changed since 1985... Selection is a funny mixture of new, modern breweries making beers in the New world style, Danish and Belgian classics and some local Funen offerings. I was surprised to see, that prices actually was higher than similar Copenhagen places. Also a selection of quality rum and whisky. Well recommended when in Odense, if you’re prepared for a noisy evening.
Cosy with competent enough staff. The board swings from being quite interesting with new and upcoming breweries as well as international beers, and subpar with old IPAs and generic belgian beers. The only place in Odense to get proper cask beer though, from breweries like Adnams and St. Austell.
Charmingly situated in a back alley of Odense’s pedestrian zone. Good selection of taps, rather limited selection of bottles. Whiskies and rum as well, if you’re so inclined. Friendly staff, but on a Saturday night it’s very busy so service is limited. One of the two best places in Odense for beer lovers, Carlsens Kvarter being the other one.
