Wasnt planning on going here, but as we returned from the beach and the housekeep havent finish our room, well this place was just around the corner. Kindof cool bar, glass, mirrors, racks with loads of books, and stuffed animals! (Lions, Boars, etc) lots of guests enjoying happy hour. 20 tap's, local bigger players, Alesmith, Stone, Ballast Point and also including Pliny the Elder. Nice enough, but not really interesting, so we ended up ordering a G&T. Friendly and fast service, prices fair for the area.

This place has undergone a facelift, beautiful African decor of wild animals. We where seated outside with stellar tiny table fireplace on the table, great for warming up those fingers. 20+ taps with few decent bottles. Great food with reasonable SD prices. Service was stellar and walking distance to Ballast point up the street. Good downtown pit stop for a nite out. A welcome restaurant with decent beer list as well as great food. Single professionals we’re out in force here on a Thursday night.

A throwback to before prohibition, is what the barkeep said was the theme of Craft & Commerce. C&C is decent little pub with a big enough bar and a few table and chairs for those dining (a small patio out front, too). I felt like I walked into pub decoration store, though, as the kitsch was way over the top. There was no missing that what they wanted you to think and feel when you walked it- mildly off-putting. My barkeep was quick with the beer, which was important, but it was a tad on the expensive side. They seem to really specialize in cocktails from the era prior to prohibition more than the beer but the selection was adequate. For those looking to bring non-beer fans they serve no vodka, so keep that in mind. Overall, it was a nice enough place for a beer but not something I’d hit up again. While the barkeep was friendly, the atmosphere was forced and the selection wasn’t anything to write home about.

Comments: Not a venue purely for beer ticking, but it’s a close walk from Ballast Point Little Italy. This venue is open late, at least until 1am and serves food pretty late as well with an all original, tight menu. Tap list is very well curated to cater to craft beer lovers and frat bros with PBR and Corona garbage. Ballast Point, Stone, Mother Earth, Saint Archer, etc. Fun venue overall that excels in food, cocktails, and ambiance over beer selection. Selection is strong enough to warrant an entry.
