Lunch at the dining room. This is probably not the place you want to go "just for" drinks. However it’s an excelent place for food, with a very well crafted drinks menu, even though it is not a huge selection.
Visited for dinner at the bar with my wife and MaxxDaddy. The restaurant and bar are beautifully designed. They had several quality beers on draft as well as available in bottle, though this is certainly not a beer focused place. The bar menu had a great selection of appetizers and entrees, and all of the food we ordered was perfectly prepared and delicious. Service was superb, and I loved the policy of checking in at the bar, and keeping a list for the spots at the bar. Overall, if you are a foodie looking for a great meal, that also features a solid beer selection - this is a great choice. This rating reflects my thoughts as a beer destination only.
70 = ★★½ (Locals should check it out, visitors with extended time)
I only use the total score, not the component parts.
A lot of fun. It’s the rarity of this being such a high end place with a respect to beer (and all beverages). The staff is engaging and fun. The food is lovely. This is a must see for someone who is into food and beer. If you are hunting for beers... or looking for a deal, hit Whole Foods, a bottle shop, or Spuyten Duyvil. This is the one place in Manhattan that I will go to every time I’m in town.

not cheap, but you get what you pay for. the beer list isn’t huge, but it’s well done. the food and service just could not be better. if you’re willing to spend money on a great dining experience, you can’t go wrong here.
Have had lunch/dinner here many times and always impressed by both expereince, food, drinks and service. The food is outstanding here. Service I have experienced has been top notch. Beer list is not extensive, but interesting and well thought out and respectable. A must do in NYC.
Ace place, at first a bit spliffing but don’t be shy! Brilliant service with knowledge waiters and very friendly and into their stuff. Not only good for beer but also wine and superb food. Rather pricy for just a nip in but worth the time you need to spend in order to fully indulge the place. Had a great time! And a hint - if you ask the waiter if they heard about the book "three sheets to the wind " by Pete Brown in which he mentions Oliver Garrett combined with your enthusiasm of beer this place is going into you priority list...!
Excellent food, of course, but more traditional than Eleven Madison Park, for example. The tavern section is absolutely beautiful, moreso than the dining room area. Service was highly professional, but not necessarily knowledgeable about beer (for example). The beer selection is excellent, especially for such a high-end restaurant. They even have imposed beer pairings for the tavern’s daily menu. All in all, a great restaurant which showcases beer as much as it does wine. In other words, a rarity in the world of gastronomy.
Went there on a Sunday evening for dinner. Very crowded and loud. Not a long list of beers, but good ones and sold in halves as well which is always a nice touch when having beer with food. Excellent service, fast and knowledgeable and friendly. Food was great, had monkfish with citrus salad.
