Just a wonderful place. I came back on this site after a long sabbatical to add this and preach a little ditty about what a true local bar this is. It’s got a great scene (music and people) it’s clean, has an eclectic decor and menu that reflects the area and time-tested dishes. It is without question, after only a few years, a bulwark of the neighborhood.
So what makes it a beer bar? I’m glad you asked. Nicole Mahon, the proprietor, made it a point from Day One to keep all her taps quality and relatively local. Which means Saranac seasonal, two Dogflish, Walt Whitman Wit, and of course the Phila. Brewing Company’s Kenzinger beer (of whose logo there’s a commissioned mural on the outside wall). This and a quality collection of bottles and cans.
The bar is designed with clear and deliberate testaments to the beer culture of the area and the vibe of Fishtown. So if you find yourself in possession of a couple spare hours of your time, it’s worth a shot.
