Lovely old school pub ambience. Packed and noisy on a Saturday night. They had 6 in the full time lineup and a couple of seasonals. What I had ranged from mediocre to terrible. The food was chain restaurant quality. At least the people were mostly nice.
Who leaves a world class joint to tick a new brewery me the fool. Anyways standard pub place with mugs on ceiling. Regular music no ambiance beers basic had a cask ale which is a plus. Anyways in a lease a town this may shine a bit more.
Centrally located in the Old Port, a great place to stop in for a beer with friends. They usually have one or two seasonals going, plus the classics. I’ve never really thought their beer was amazing in any way, but it’s a fun place to chill.
A quite cozy place, looking ofd-fashioned with several rooms and wooden panels. The beers are rather dull seen from a beer enthusiast point of view, but clean and honest. They are honest about their selection as well, and told us that they had chosen to go for beers that wouldn’t frighten anyone as they were situated in the tourist area. I think they’re wrong doing so, but it’s of course up to them.
Établissement visité le dimanche 17 août vers 17h. Ambiance: Longue table commune. Bar central. Basically a relic of Portland’s history of English beer culture. Luckily, things have changed significantly in recent years, but places like this remain to remind us what life was once like. Atmosphere is nice and this is a good spot to hang out with friends when bar hopping the Old Port, but not worth visiting for the beer. Their beers are all muddled Ringwood crap.
Great ambiance. Beers are at best average but mostly mediocre. All pretty samey: sweet, not very hoppy. Staff couldn’t give me precise ABVs on the beers. Prices not great but so so. Good, central location. Definitely not a must-visit place.
