This taproom is a MUST visit. Half Acre has been my favorite Chicagoland brewery for quite a while. The people are really great. The new taproom is BEAUTIFUL. They always have a lot of special things in the taproom, and they have Firken Fridays! Visit this brewery if you visit Chicago. Bad apple is across the street. Fountainhead is 0.3 miles away. Make a day out of it!
Stopped in briefly to sample some beers and get some beer to go. I love the design of this place. so cool and hip looking, beers on tap were all good and the staff really took their time to chat with us. Prices were very fair. they gave me a sticker which was listed as a 50 cent cost.
This was may favorite brewery on my latest trip to Chicago. I had some of their beer around town before visiting the taproom and it got my expectations high. Half Acre delivered. The tasting room is on the smaller side, but not tiny. I’d say during peak hours it gets nuts in here though. There is some really cool artwork on the walls. I like the beer drinking bear and trouble on the farm paintings. The beer is absolutely stellar. This is an example of well-executed, painstakingly created beer. Every detail is given attention from appearance to mouthfeel. Next to the taproom is a large storefront selling to go beer and schwag.
A slow Tuesday and friendly staff and friendly customers. Best thing- some of the tastiest fresh beers. Walked into the taproom first and thought the brewery was a bit small. Was pointed in the right direction. Worth going back and I hope I do soon.
Update: Now the actual tap room is open. They have 10 taps (I feel like they should have added more) that run the gamut. Will be tap room only beers coming along. Really great space, great prices and great staff. Pretty awesome stuff.
Not sure I understand the ragging of the other reviews. It’s a store front for the brewery. If the shop is open, they pour growler fills and sell packaged beer of their own and other small breweries, as well as swag. Service is decent and the brewery is always open in the back if the store is. Nice vibe and good for the scene.
Gyus were friendly and showed us around. Clean pleace and I can’t belieive how small it is! The beer was good and even better when paired with the right food!

This is a brewery with a storefront to sell growlers and merch... To the tourists with false expectations, Half Acre is one of the most creative brewing operations in the city. Try supporting places that are really doing something for the local craft beer scene. "Almost-cocky" what does that even mean? Staff are laid-back and super friendly. Ive been going here since they opened, and its a solid place to get an ever-rotating selection of fresh craft beers in growler form, some are brewery-exclusive. Their bottle/can selection rotates weekly, and is different everytime I go. If youre looking for a bar, there are plenty of walkable options: Bad Apple, Fountainhead, Tiny Lounge, etc.
