Got to this place 5 minutes before closing. I was only passing through so I could not return. After about 3 minutes the employee started an agressive campaign to usher me and another customer to the register. A bad experience. One good thing is that they had Great Lakes brewery products. Too bad I wasnt given another 10 minutes when I explained I was passing through from Arizona. Employee must have had a hot date.
What a trip i took to go see this place my first time, but it was well worth it. Bring’s you back to the old school day’s of being a kid in a candy store. Huge selection of Belgians and Micros, as well as some English Ale’s, and just about anything you can think off. I have talked with many people about this place, that seem to think it’s over ratted but it’s not. Great selection, Good prices, Some knowledgable staff, and most importantly it is stored and maintain in excellant condition. The restaurant two stores down is also worth cheking out,
While killing some time as to spend less time with my annoying relatives, I popped in here to kill 15 minutes. About an hour later, I emerged $200 bucks lighter, and happy I had stopped in. While the service was good, I expected a bit more knowledge from a place this diverse. Prices were all over the place, but I found some great local stuff and growler fills for decent prices. A supermarket/warehouse feel that doesn’t work for me, but overall it is a must see store!
Awesome, Simply Awesome
That said, why is it so awesome. Easy if I was to open a beer store I would just copy this one.
The huge store only has beer, a great start. It had aisles of beer. The first I went through had all American Micros, the second had all Belgian on one side and German’s on the other, the third had 4 or 5 other countries, another aisle had all seasonals.
Ok that was getting boring. They had kegs tapped for growlers, as variety of inexpensive glasswhere, blah, blah, blah.
My son is in college in Poughkeepsie, so each time I go up I will make a stop to restock my fridge with beers I can’t find anywhere near my home.
If your in the areas, I would suggest you check it out.
Very good selection with alot of belgians. 7 beers on tap while I was there. Pricing was pretty good and there was a pretty good selection of glassware as well. I try to get up there once or twice every couple months.
Overall good selection. I’ve ordered a few times through them and just about every time my order was shorted a few of the beers I ordered. They did fix the problem with a refund but I only found out once my order arrived at my house and checked my bank statement. There wasn’t any email about a refund or what they didn’t have enough of in stock. That is my only irritation with this place. There is also the fact that to get free shipping you have to order $100 of beer which is quite a bit of beer at a time. The beer isn’t always fresh I received Sculpin which expired just a few days after I received it. On a brighter note selection, time to receive order and dependability as far as never having a problem at least most of my order this place has been a decent place for a good variety of brews.
