When I visited my friend in San Diego he lived a couple blocks from Hamiltons. We went a night that BrewDog was doing flights. I ordered chilli cheese fries and a couple of Brewdogs Tokyo Roses. I was bummed when i got back home and brewdog wasn’t available yet. I am looking forward to my next visit
The fact that there is a higher rated beer in San Diego than this is amazing. The selection was massive and included at least 10 beers I’d never even heard of much less had. The place was packed, and we were there late afternoon, and everyone was definitely into the good beer vibe. Despite the crowd I had no trouble getting a beer whenever I desired one and the staff was very friendly.
It has that slightly run down ambiance that I actually enjoy. I can’t wait to go back to San Diego and see the rest the city has to offer, but when I do I’ll definitely hit up Hamilton’s again. Great time!
NIce Place! Went there on a thursday night with my girlfriend, on tap selection AMAZING! Bottle list is huge, we shared a couple of italian sour ale i brought with the bartender and he replied me with a couple of russian river supplication! A MUST VISIT in San Diego
This was the last place my brother and I visited this past week on Tuesday night. I’m glad we did. We almost didn’t go as we were getting burnt out on everything beer.
Its a darkly lit bar tap handles hanging from the ceiling with christmas lights illuminating the place from above. Pretty cool. Selection was some of the best taps and bottle list in the area. Service was top notch. The bartenders were all very knowledgeable about beer and were happy to share some with you. Food was good. If you cook hops into your food how could it not be good?
Overall we had great conversation with the bartenders and locals at the bar, great food, top notch service, and a great time. I would come back here in an instant. This was one of my favorites while here.

My favorite Beer bar in San Diego. They have two pool tables and a shuffle board. More importantly they have a constant rotation of GREAT beers. It does get crowded Thursday-Saturday nights so get there early.
They have really good food next door as well, which you can order in the bar through a little hole in the wall.
Oh, and bring the dog too.
Hammy’s is my SoCal home away from home. Both the crowd and staff here are hands down the friendliest craft beer fans I’ve met anywhere in my travels. Love the movies they always have playing here. Tap selection is eye popping, IPA heaven for certain, and plenty of variety of other styles are represented. Bottles cover the rest. A world class beer bar for certain. Hope to darken it’s door again soon.
Hamilton’s is my go to beer destination in San Diego. I remember my first trip to Hamilton’s and how awestruck I was upon first glance at the chalkboard listing all the great beer offerings. I am always able to find something great to drink on draft. Next up you have the great bottle coolers with an every wider selection of great beer to choose from. Hamilton’s is, by far, my favorite place in San Diego to drink beer.
An amazing place, huge beer list and 28 taps with a fantastic selection.
I loved it

You don’t expect much when walking in, it looks old and beat up with cracked vinyl stools. After a couple minutes you feel right at home and glad you stayed. A chalk board with about 20 taps of mostly locals with a couple Beligum’s adds to the charm. The focus is on local beers, but more renowned beers. There was roughly 4 beers that I would consider new, from a small brewery or not known. I’d like to see a few more about 25% but I can’t complain too much. They offer cheap full pours but will give you a couple tastes to find what you like. The bottle list is quite impressive with not only rarer beers like plenty of Cantillon, but vintage American beers like 2012 Parabola and Framboise de Amarosa among plenty others. They offer food, ignore the sticky gross menus and try some hush puppies. The service was top notch. Usually bartenders are a bit stand offish, but our server was not only nice but knew a ton about beer. This is a place I’d frequent and call home. A must visit.
