Visited this brew pub restaurant at the Radio City site (my favorite) and Union square site many, many times while visiting family in NYC and did not think to rate it until now. For me, this place is an essential NYC stop because of the food and fresh Heartland’s brews. It is true that the brew may not win any gold medals at GABF, but who cares. The brews are drinkable and satisfying. Depending on my mood, I usually order their Corn Lager ale (my favorite) or I try the sampler trays for some variety. The environment is comfortable and relaxing, sometimes full of tourists. Can be loud at times. Menu is above average for pub fare. Sometimes the food is a hit or a miss, usually it’s fine by me. Their crab cakes and BBQ ribs are consistently excellent. Service is good and I never had any problems in the past. Decent beer, food and service, I will keep coming to this brewpub whenever I visit NYC.

Nice menu and decent selection of beer. Had 8 beer sampler which included 2 seasonals. The oatmeal stout was excellent. Also enjoyed the bock wheat. Food was good. Had a really good burger cooked the way I ordered it! Appetizers were good also but portions were on the small size. Try the Buffalo chicken spring rolls but get 2 orders b/c they’ll disappear in a flash. Service was great and the waiter went out of his way to explain the beers to a couple of the novices at our table. Overall a decent place at a decent price. I’d definitely go back.
Cinq succursales à New York.
Stopped at the Times Square (Chophouse) location the other day for lunch. The beer selection was good, with an interesting Chocolate Wit on the menu. The food came out quite quickly. They did cook my burger well done, when medium was requested. They were very quick to replace it, and were very apologetic about it.
Advised by a next seat person on a fly to NY. Came there without reservation, and had a wonderful birthday celebration. Beer was fresh and enjoyable, all the food menu we tried was also good. Liked the atmosphere of the place a lot. Friends, who visited that place afterwards liked it also.
Visited the Times Square location. Had at least 10 on tap - all above average - loved the Farmer John’s Oatmeal Stout. Nice cozy setting, looks like a library inside an old mansion. Servers were chatty and quick. Did not try the food - only stopped by for night caps. Will seek on ant retrub visit to NYC
Classy looking place, a nice selection of beers, food is outstanding, had a great beef stroganoff there, oatmeal stout is very excellent, prices were pretty average for being in the middle of Manhattan
