A nice place on the market place of Kreuzberg. Great atmosphere, really pleasant place to spend hours with sharing beers. The beers on tap are great and very tasteful. When I was there it was Pale Ale and Belgium Ale with belgium yeast. Really good beer and cheap.
Overwhelmed by the wonderful hip of Markthalle IX, we in fact failed to find the real place, just frequented a wooden bar positioned centrally with only one beer on tap. Yet the market hall itself is a real treat and although other beer options are available, most of the visitors seem to stick to the local hero. Quite deservingly, to say. Just maybe the star of a home turf could be advertised better, not to miss the treats it offers.
Small area the the corner of the market hall. Four beers on tap and several more on bottles. Some kind of seating in the corner, but also possible to take the beer out in the market hall if paying deposit for the glass. Possible to buy bottles to take home. Tasty beer and interesting place worth dropping by if one happens to be in that area of the city when it’s open.
Visited April 2016 with my parents. This brewpub is placed in the back of this market hall, foodmarket and small stalls selling food to eat on the site. The brewpub it self is very small. Has a decent range of their own beers mainly on tap, but a few bottles as well. Seatings are in the main market hall.
Just when you thought this market hall couldn’t get any more hip, of course there’s a brewpub tucked in the back corner! You get a beer (with 2€ deposit on the glass) and take it out to the picnic tables and eat some food. Beers are decent and adventurous but not exactly world-class. Great spot for lunch w/ beer!
