Easily the best beer bar I’ve been to in all of Norway. Simply the best of everything I look for in such places. Extensive, varied and well-chosen draught list, focusing on Norwegian and other Scandinavian beers, but also some imports from the US. You can order in 0.35L or 0.25L pours, though the bartender was nice enough to let me split two beers into 0.25L pours to maximize the beers I could try and minimize wallet damage. No food or music playing here. Prices are very steep but that’s Norway. An absolute gem of a place. World class.
It was great to return three years later and see that Henrik is expanding further when it comes to beer selection. 44 operating taps should very well be best of its kind in Norway. Just great (visited three days in a row in September 2012)
The bar can be found on the first floor of a very central located building. Medium sized quadrangular room with sparse decor on the walls. Almost full range of bottle ales from Nøgne Ø - and with Nøgne Ø Imperial Stout on tap when I visited the bar on 18th June 09. Connected to the informal Nøgne Ø chain, they also have Mikkeller beers and some quality ales from USA, supported by good stuff from Haandbryggeriet and other Norwegian micros. I visited the place both in the afternoon and later the same evening and it seemed to be very popular, meant for drinking and talking. Friendly service. Believed to be the best place for beer enjoyment in Bergen.
54 beers on tap! A great place, knowledgeable staff and efficient service. I was pleased to see a great selection of Norwegian craft beer on the chalkboard. Is there anything to improve? Well, I would like to have the opportunity to buy beer in a 15 or 20 cl glass. Some beers from tap are served in a small glass, but not all. (Visited September 13 and 14th 2013)
Very nice bar on the first floor, pretty close to "Den Nationale Scene" Norways oldest permanent theatre. Good selections of beers on tap including Nøgne Ø.
Belgian, British and German selection as well. Popular place with a good mix of clientel
Nice bar with good selection of beer. Centrally located in downtown Bergen. Friendly staff, but a bit less friendly prices. A must visit for beer lovers in Bergen.

Great bar with a good selection and friendly people. We were taken to the cellar and offered some good recommendations when we said we were interested in Norwegian micros. A great place to come for a few beers if you’re in Bergen. Value left blank as Norway prices are always high.
First storey bar above a decent coffee shop and bistro. Popular with postgrads and researchers from the city’s big university. Not many students when we were there (first day of term). Lots of Nogne O and Haansbryggeriet beers plus some Danish and Scottish micros. Good range for Norway. Is there a good value bar anywhere in the country?
Doesn’t look like much from the outside because the pub is on the 2nd floor. A great pub with a fantastic atmosphere, I went there four times, I’d be there many times a week if I was a local in Bergen. A killer selection of 44 taps, that’s a lot of taps for Norway, surprisingly not so expensive. Carefully selected bottle list with a few of them that can set you back more than you want to. Super friendly and knowledgeable staff, very good with recommendations and just cool to talk to. Some kind of a small back-patio where you can drink outside with a roof over your head in the very unlikely event that it rains on Bergen. So far ahead of the rest of Bergen beer bars that there is not even a #2. Actually I didn’t even find such a great beer bar in the much large Oslo.
Been here on several occasions, and I really like staying here. Except one thing, the cleanliness of the lines tend to be too good, especially in the early hours. With this I mean that there’s still some cleaning agent to be tasted in some of the beers. Guess they don’t flush enough after cleaning.
But the service is fine, the selection one of the most interesting in Norway, and the beers are in good form. Will always go back to Henrik when I’m in Bergen.
