As others have commented, this is far and away the best beer store in San Diego Co. Selection, storage and service are all top flight. My only disappointment is that it’s in Escondido, a 1/2 hour drive from my home in San Diego. An well, definitely worth the trip - especially for imports!!!

This place was unbelievable. No, they don’t have Westy 12, and they haven’t for a while. Who cares though. I got a boatload of US Micros I can’t get in NY, and EVERYTHING is cheaper. Alesmith bombers are $3.25!?@#$ The one I got in Mass after a 2.5 hour drive was friggin’ $8! Russian River, Alesmith, Pizza Port, and about a thousand other micros are here. I think the only real notable import I got were a few Girardin Black Labels. The guy there hooked me up with an Alesmith Decadence and a Pizza Port Synergy (or something) since he knew I’d never find that stuff in NY. It is kinda funny knowing that they marvel over Brooklyn’s stout and I can get 6 of them for $7 though... I’m sure they felt the same way about some of their stuff if you know what I mean..

all i can say is: freakin’ awesome. they have such a good selection of beers on the floor plus you can go into the back area and go into the cold storage room. if you’re looking to stock up on some awesome beers visit holiday wine cellar. i recommend the left hand milk stout.

Awesome looking building. I like the 200 foot LIQUOR sign outside. Classy. Inside is nice and organized and to the point. The way they sell their beer is about the best I’ve seen anywhere. Imports are on shelves, easy to find. Most stuff is in coolers in either 6ers, or in little singles rows. 6er? No problem. Single? No problem. They didn’t even bother "singling out" a 6er that wasn’t in the cooler yet. This place was pretty cool and had some harder to find things that BevMo didn’t carry. I’m definitely coming back here before leaving San Diego.

Lots and lots of great stuff here. Pizza Port, and Belgian and European and ... Well, Everything. If I can’t get it here, I can’t get it in San Diego.

This is the only place in san diego that gets beer that no other liqour store can get. whether it be fantome, bris bon bon or chocolat to pizza port brews 2 bucks cheaper than the brewery, this is the place to go. The amount of beers they have isn’t jaw dropping, but what they get is. Also for wino’s and scotch whores or any specialty liqours, this place is the best in san diego. The employees also know about there stuff,

Great store with a great selection...by far the best in San Diego They definitely have some rareties and if you ask them they might bring something good out from the back for you. There prices are great...often times you can get beer from them for cheeper than you can at the brewery.

Pretty nice selection, with a few rarities, including Pizza Port stuff. In fact I think this is the only place to get PP beers other than at the brewpub. They also turn out to be a lot cheaper here too. The staff was helpful in locating the latest batch of Mother of All Beers that had just come in.

HWC probably has the best selections in San Diego County, with reasonable prices to boot. They don’t have them any more, but I have scored a westvleteren 12, a Stone 5th Anniversary IPA, a 1997 J.W. Lees Harvest Ale as well as a few other rare treasures at Holiday Wine Cellar. Knowledgable staff well trained by their BEER man Justin, who has hooked me up in the past. They have all of the locals...AleSmith, Stone, Pizza Port, Ballast Point, Green Flash and other SoCal brewers.

I love this place. It has the best beer selection in San Diego County. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and very helpful. Some the beers that have been recommended to me by the staff have been excellent. So they know there stuff. The beer selection is a lot of local micro’s and a good deal of Belgain and European beers as well. Also, the selection changes quite a bit as well with new beers being added all the time. If your looking for something special, the staff can probably get it for you. Also, from time to time you’ll come across some gems that you wouldn’t expect to see. I recently got a Stone Russian Imperial from 2001 for the regular price it would normally sell for and I picked up a bottle of Alesmith Horny Devil from 2002 a while back as well. It’s well worth the drive to get out there.
