Stop #3. Really awesome looking place. It was a bit crowded but we got a table quickly. Great selection of bottles and taps. Food was really damn good, and they had good music and a nice lively atmosphere.
This review is for the Grand Rapids Hopcat. This is a good place. Good ambience, good beer selection and good food. A fun place, nice physical plant in an old GR factory. A complete package. Can’t wait until they open their Ann Arbor location.
Oh goodness. Certainly on the very short list of best craft beer bars in America. Terrific draft list with a strong regional emphasis. Lots of rarities. Loaded with character. Helpful staff. Feels like home. The food could use a wee bit of an upgrade (it’s typical bar foody bar food), but... meh. Still great.
Awesome tap list, awesome bottle list (expensive), awesome menu. Sometimes a pain in the ass to get a table, especially during busy times & on the weekends. But worth the effort. Get the "Grand Royal" if you’re hungry. It’s a sloppy joe literally covered in thick, cheesy beer sauce. I don’t mean the meat, the ENTIRE sandwich is covered in it. Service has varied from acceptable to good, I think it depends on how busy they are. All in all, a must-stop if you’re in Grand Rapids.

Cool place in downtown area with easy parking nearby. Sat at the bar on a Wednesday night, probably found the last seat in the place. Fast, helpful service. Great beer selection and served well. Good food - crack fries were awesome. A little pricy but otherwise a nice place. Would go back.
On November 2013, the place was crowded, service was slow, the selection was nice but a bit pricy. Every time someone was getting out or in we were freezing big time, so we move further near the bar and there we were losing an once of our precious liquid every time some one was passing by. So we went somewhere else.
Great old building with huge selection of draft beers and bottles - local, national, and international beers. Service was insanely quick sitting at the bar - there were a dozen people behind the bar buzzing back and forth - you don’t have to wait long. A well-deserved reputation.
Great place to get a brew downtown with equally great burgers. Ambiance is great, but packed every time I have ever been there. Nice selection of beers, but their personal beers have been spotty availability at best from my experience.
Right down town near Founders. House brew was really nice with a very impressive tap and bottle list. Food was very tasty and service was on top of everything. We sat outside because it was hopping inside. Would have liked to have stayed longer but after 4 days and 11 breweries I’m a little beered out.
