One of my favorite places in the whole city of chicaog. Great atmosphere, amazing food, and a beer list that is sure to please everyone. I go here a couple of times a month usually. The ham sandwiches are amazing!!!
Craft Beer bar in North Chicago. Really good beer menu with lot of interesting stuff on my want list. Satisfactory service. Food looked good. Beers only come in one size depending on what it is. Close to Red line metro.
Belgian style beer bar on the north side. You’ve been to one like it before. Visited on a weekday afternoon. Friendly bartender. Large assortment of Belgian beers in bottle and on tap with some local hoppy beer. Nice food Nice service OK selection. Worth visiting if in the area
A good palce in chicago, I woudl personally take JErry’s down the road over this but this is a nice place, always packed, food is good but pricey for what it is, its not world class or anything, beers are usually good their calling card is events with special tappings.
Venerable stalwart of the Chicago Beer Scene, along with Map Room. Additions of the next-door space, dining rooms, and kitchens over the years have only improved the destination. Bartenders are also less surly than back in the day when this was a one room space. Easy to get to off of the Red Line. Strict no kids and carding policy. You will be carded even if you are obviously over 60. You make me feel so young!
Acre and Jerry’s are closest other destinations to Hopleaf, but on a crawl you could also consider trying to hit Half Acre, Bad Apple and Fountainhead. The Damen bus actually ends in Andersonville.
