This is the bar located upstairs from the epic beer shop downstairs. Quite a quirky and fun interior. They have a bout 6 taps of decent enough beer including some Arbor when I visited. The great thing is you guy buy ANY beer from down stairs and drink it here, making the actual bottle selection about 500, so great! Do yourself a favour and grab a beer from downstairs!

Fabulously cosy medieval timber framed bar, lovely stud work! Nice cosy semi oval bar from which a decent range of beers is served and from which the nice smelling and good looking food is prepared. No beer ticks for me, but a good selection of IPAs and a Double IPA or two. Staff were very warm and helpfull. For kicks you can get a shot of the unrateable Koelschip - Start The Future here for £7. You know what - itís not bad at all. If you are lucky you might be able to get the 70% Mistery (sic) beer. Really nice vibe here. I would come here to chill and drink good beer that wasnít necesarily.a tick.

Sept í16 review - 64. Much improved in here, interesting beers to go at, still tight and slightly uncomfortable but more enjoyable.
Sept í13 review - 40. Lovely building above The House of Trembling Madness bottle shop. We didnít realise that you could open your own from purchases downstairs and attempted to get served at the tight bar, not easy and there is a poor range when you get there. It is also difficult to get seated and it is not the type of bar to stand. All in all we were not that impressed.

What a place. Upstairs from the bottle shop. Looks old and Tudor. Tiny bar, handful of tables. Touristy, but also a student hang out. Met local students Jon, Tom and Gustave who then accompanied me on a pub crawl around the city. Tried the food too - very filling.

Visited on 25th June 2016. Single roomed pub above the Trembling Madness bottle shop. Itís all high ceiling, wooden beams and stuffed animals on the wall. Place was full of diners and was warm and noisy. Managed to share a table and grab a quick beer. Prices and quality decent. Service quick. Itís touristy so maybe try and avoid more popular times. It OK.

Above the drinks shop in an older world, predominantly wooden room with plenty of creaks as you move around it. Thereís not a lot of space though, with very small tables in the nearly square room. The service area is small but packs in choices on cask and keg, all of which are worthwhile, backed up by a good bottle choice - which you kind of expect given the bottle shop is below.

This medieval drinking area is now extremely popular, and often now difficult to get into. 7 pr 8 beers on either cask or keg, with range of bottles, plus the option of bringing things up from the excellent shop downstairs.

Even though this place doesnít have a great selection of beers, I really liked being able to make a selection downstairs and have the lads or lasses chill it for you for quaffing upstairs. The meat and cheese platters were magnificent! The place was crawling with students and tourists and everybody added to the bonhomie of the gathering. On one occasion I was seated next to a table full of visitors from Japan and they could not have been more delightful. This place probably doesnít appeal to the beer cognoscenti, but they would be missing a great time! Recommended!

Inviting bar upstairs from the beer shop. Heaps of wood, stuffed animals and such. Very busy but managed to grab a seat at the small bar so I didnít order any food but it looked tasty. The crew were busy pouring pints and prepping plates of food in a rather confined space. Good atmosphere. Really liked it up here.
