Lacklustre beers, just a standard pils (I think even Stella is better) and a very ordinary dunkel. Food once excellent, another time below par so won’t be coming back! Only 2 brews both times I’ve been here.
4 times visit last @ 16.07.2016.
First visit was on aug. 2005 with familygroup.

A very big and busy restaurant in the heart of Leuven, but still with a nice interieur. The service is fine, the food is good and fairly priced.
On the beer side, the bottle list is full of the usual well-known Belgian suspects. The self-brewed beer is okay. Recommended for a nice meal, not per se for the beer.
First place visit while living in Belgian and first place I visited with my boy. Will be a while before he’s allowed to drink though... This city brewpub has a rather large restaurant area where hearty food is served such as omelets stew, pastas and grilled sandwiches. I enjoyed the reasonably priced food and it gives a good Base for tasting beer. Unfortunately only 3 are available at any time which seems a bit stupid for a brewpub. They give tours too, if you’re into that. I simply chugged the 3 tasters with a cheese omelette. Good start of the day, of you ask me.
Easy to find and a short walk from the station. Rather family styled and food oriented. Customers were clearly not beer geeks. I saw a guy arrive shortly after me with his family, just like me he ordered the tasting tray, he proceeded to chug them without even getting even being explained as to which beer was which. Clearly he was a far more typical customer than me since I didn’t get an explanation either as to which beer was which before I specifically asked for one. Anyway, they are one of the few brew pubs in Belgium and their own beers are clearly the main reason to come here. They were however bland, unexciting and tasted like home brews made from extracts to be honest. They were drinkable but you could definitely do without them. You could get samples of all 3 at one, price was decent. Other than that, the beer list was boring at best, usual suspects, none of the less common interesting Belgium breweries, quite a few macro options. Food looked typical, nothing vegan upon first side, cheese heavy vegetarian options appeared to be available as well as gluten free options. I didn’t eat anything here. Interior was dark wooden & rather touristy, tad fake and felt a bit cellar like. Service was regular medium prized place, nothing exciting or worthwhile here. Good as a very brief stop for tickers just to scoop their beers, nothing more.

Nice brewpub in central Leuven, pretty cosy and rustic interior. Mediocre beer selection, okay food.
