This could be my favorate brewery setting in the country. Minus the live-fire gun range next door, this place is amazing! great staff that are ever so friendly (and love metal!), great setting for a farmhouse brewery and just a lovely saturday afternoon having some great beers for a very good price. There needs to be more places like this around the country. Everytime im in this area on a saturday, i will definately go back!
Visited on a Saturday night around 7 PM. The brewery is located off the beaten path by about two or three miles. It turns out, the turn is fairly easy to miss when the fog is thick and your GPS doesn’t know exactly where to turn. It has the feel of driving onto a ranch. Once you do get to the parking lot, at night, you can see a huge lit grass yard with picnic tables set up close to the brewery.
Sidenote: There is a pizza place closer to the parking lot. I didn’t go in there, but the friends that I brought said their pizza is excellent.
The brewery tasting room itself is somewhat small. There is a bar with standing room only and about 5 people could drink beer there at a time. However, there was plenty of seating just off from the tasting room, and you could wander the grounds with your beer as well if the feeling struck you. Service was excellent. The bartender was very helpful, as were the three men working in the bottle/to go/merch area off from the tasting room. Of note, there is an outdoor tasting area. I missed that part, as I learned they close that down at dark. Judging by the menu, it would be pretty nice as well. They had a cask of their new SPON series and several other bottled beers they were pouring from that spot.
After you have a beer, you are encouraged to look around the brewhouse. This too was smaller than anticipated given their international presence. I saw about 10 stainless fermenters and in another room maybe 100 to 150 barrels.
The only real knock against this place is that the beer prices were on the high side, but not outrageously so.
This place is a must see for any beer fan. I would love to make it back here some day with a little more time.
Excellent brewery out on a ranch outside of Austin. These brewers are true artisans of craft beer and the whole experience was pleasant and well organized. Kid friendly. The food rating is for the separate group that runs the pizza shack next door.
Awesome brewery. It’s close to Austin but still feels like it’s in the middle of nowhere. Has this cool little dirt patch area with some grass and tables right next to basically a barn with some pizza & food options. The wait for the taps is pleasant enough, and you can do a whole variety of different pour sizes. They have cornhole, and bottle service. It’s just so cool. Tough to describe, but really exceptional.
Visited with the wife while on a business trip in Austin. A cool little place out off the city. Indoor and outdoor pouring station each pouring 4 or 5 on tap, with an equal number of bottled options. Lots of people but a very laid back place. There is an adjacent pizza place that serves up okay (but not great by East Coast standards) pie. The beer....I tried eight 4-oz samples. A lot of them taste similar and honestly aren’t the best sours. The Black Metal (the least sour or farmhousy, ironically) is far and away the best beer. It’s worth the trip for that alone. All in all, though, I’m glad I came.
Big fan of the spot out in the country but still warming up to all the sour beer. These guys are legit!

A beautiful picturesque place on the way to the hill country, very laid back atmosphere, cheerfully talkative service,Great selection of excellent beers, what more could you want. A must visit when in Austin.
Great location on the outskirts of Austin on a farm. Ideal location with tons of open space and tables. Well run place that has 3 stations with different beers. Never much of al line. I luckily came on a release and it wasn’t a mess at all. The offer half pours so you can tick a lot, even out of bottles. My only complaint is that the main seating area is all dirt. If they had grass it would be a better experience. Kid friendly. Think of Hill Farmstead done Texas.

Next door is another farm with really good pizza, a separate location called Stanley’s Farmhouse pizza. Ample free parking, tons of space for kids and dogs to run around. The beers on tap were a good mix of special edition house saisons and a few of their regular offerings. Some tap pours were poured from pitchers due to overcarbonation. A few beers were for sale only at outside stations separate from the main tasting room. Overall, the prices were normal for this type of beer and samplers were available- poured into large tulips with generous foam. However, a lot of the beer tasted phenolic and off with strange house yeast tasting over a body of dry, bland, seltzer tasting fluff. Cannot beat the ambiance, but I probably would not return for the beer.
Love this place! They have it figured out here. Located on a ranch with lots of parking, covered picnic tables, wood fired pizza, beer to go and a pretty decent guest tap selection.
Obviously this place can get packed on a Friday or Saturday… which is why I went on a Sunday. I had my fill for samples and pints with plenty of elbow room. Staff was friendly and I chatted up the girl checking ID cards. The lady’s pulling drafts where talkative as well. I had a great experience here. Someday I would like to return.
