The beer is Jolly Pumpkin’s and Northern Breweries. It’s good but not as broad as I would like. The food Is quite good - a plus, though I would not mind a broader selection (though this is much more true for the beer than the food). The ambience is a little wierd - an Hawaian theme but with a slightly tacky, owner family theme. Overall though it is a good place that is well worth a visit now and then.
Ambiance: A cool place in downtown AA, nice wood inside of an old school brick building, a bar that can hold about a dozen patrons plus tables all around and a second floor for additional seating
Service: Service was okay, knowledgeable but not overly attentive when needed.
Selection: Had about 14 different JP beers but I am personally not a fan of their beers as they all taste the same...even the in house beers tasted similar.
Food: Decent burger, cooked well but nothing overly special
Value: Beers are slightly higher than they should be for the quality, same goes for the food. Basically a place that is popular in a college town, so they get over on game weekends.
Overall, a nice place to visit but one and done for me...would not need to return ever.
One of my favorite places to visit. Already one of my favorite Michigan breweries and the brewpub just adds to it. A really cool vibe that’s decorated with JP’s amazing artwork. Service is always nice and a pleasure. Tap selection is a bit short unfortunately. And all Jolly Pumpkin brews are always amazing. They also offer about the same amount North Peak brews too. Bottles and growlers to go is always a plus. Food is amazing. The truffle fries are a must for every trip. I’ve also had everything from spicy tomato soup, mussels, French toast for their brunch special, and a bunch more. All great. A lot of cool merchandise too. My favorite glassware I own is their balloon glass. Also bottle openers, very cool growlers, stainless steel growlers and 12oz bottles for on the go. Always a fun place to go and always worth a stop.
Nice multi story bar on the trendy main street. Service was decent and they knew about beer. Selection was a ton of JP as well as their other regular brews. Food was fantastic and very nice high end bar food. Prices were good and they had tasting flights. An overall solid place to go that I would be happy to visit time and time again.
I love this place. Dimly lit, with a more sophisticated vibe than most. Amazing food. Seriously, try the truffle fries & mussels. The margherita pizza is really good, too. I love Jolly Pumpkin’s beers, so there’s always something enjoyable on tap, though the list is somewhat small. Usually around 8 or so JP brews. They also have a list of North Peak beers, too. Kind of expensive, but definitely worth it if you’re into good food & farmhouse ales.
A nice place with a warm feel and a friendly buzz. Most of their beers are on the sour/bitter end of the spectrum, which is alright for a change of pace, but that’s not my thing. Friendly service and good veggie options. I’m glad I stopped by.
Historic building downtown, decorated nicely. Selection of beers is on the low side for a brew pub. Beers are pricey (just like they are in bottles), but food is pretty good value. And tasty (the truffle fries were particularly good). Would definitely come again if I’m ever in town again.
