Stopped in late February, 2016. Don’t be confused when you look this place up online and it’s listed as Tapworks - it’s a part of KC’s Sandbar and that’s what all their signage and building says. Go to KC’s and go inside and you will find all the taps, etc.
Beach themed bar with a large outdoor area with, you guessed it, loads of sand. There’s an outdoor stage and you can expect live music on weekends even if it isn’t busy. Space for cornhole, etc. Inside is a regular old beachy-themed somewhat divey bar atmosphere.
My bartender was nice and prompt, even knew the beer I was ordering was new and fresh, but otherwise didn’t seem to know much about the beers, etc.
Probably the best and largest craft beer selection you’re going to find on tap in FWB. I don’t go there enough to know how quickly they go through it, but if it’s busy in the spring and summer, I’m sure they plow through some of it at least.
I didn’t try the food, but the beer was expensive. $7 for a pint of Sweetwater Goin’ Coastal, which would be $3-$4 up here in Georgia. I guess that’s what you get in the Destin area, though.
Overall, I like this place and I will definitely be back whenever I have gigs and/or work on the FWB side. I usually hit up Props nearby to scope the new local beers and then head to KC’s to get more ticks. I really hope they consider doing half pours or flights in the future.
