Update:
Since they’ve discontinued the on-site drinking the need to come here is more questionable. If you have designs on being a Kernel completist you need to visit regularly because you’ll get all the new releases (which are not easy to keep track of). If you don’t they might pop up anywhere and they’re easy to miss because you simply aren’t in the right place at the right time. If you’re not a Kernel completist there’s not really any need to visit as Kernel beers are quite easily found elsewhere. You may, of course, want to visit to buy the new bottles and drink / share them elsewhere.

So, it’s a brewery under railway line in a less than inspiring neighborhood that only opens for a few hours on Saturday for bottle sales (and on-site drinking) and a couple of beers on tap. Still it manages to score highly for ambience and selection. Firstly, the Kernel folk are great and always around. Secondly, anyone interesting from the beer world who is town is almost certainly going to call in and, because of the limited opening hours, you’re almost certainly going to bump into them. Thirdly, although the number of beers available is not huge, they change every week and, unless you go every week you are bound to miss some because of the number of different beers they make. So definitely an essential visit. Way more than the sum of the parts.

Chociaż browar zaprzestał serwowania piwa z kranu juz jakiś czas temu, jest to dalej jedno z najcześciej odwiedzanych miejsc na piwnej mapie Londynu. W każda sobotę, pomiędzy 10-14ta można przyjść do browaru by skosztować piwa i zakupić go w butelce. Obsługa cierpliwie naleje Ci każdego piwa i pomoże w wyborze. Dobra rada, za nic nie proście ani nie otwieracie piwa na miejscu by napić się go z butelki!

Nestled under a railway platform, the brewery and bottle shop kick off the stroll through Bermondsey. Consumption on site isn’t allowed, just off site bottle sales. Stock rotates depending on season and brewing schedule. Would ahve been nice to try one out.

Unfortunately they closed down the bar and only sell their bottles saturdays. Was a bit hard to find, located in the arches under the railway, together with other local crafted food stands.

Quite big selection when i visited, around 15 different bottles. Good prices, 2.80 for a top rated IPA by one of Englands leading craft breweries is really decent.

Side note: there was another stand from a local coffee roaster, which brewed a damn great Espresso! So this isn’t only worth a trip for the beer.

Bottle shop for take away only, interesting location. Can find some of the rarer stuff here. Worth checking out.

It’s a space under a railway arch where you can buy bottle of Kernel to take away. Not exactly great for ambiance, but the beer quality is exceptional and you may be able to pick up a few rarities at a good price.

(Backlog) Came here in June 2014 and loved the place. Bizarre hours as with all the breweries in Bermondsey, but definitely worth making a special trip for. They had beers on tap when I went, offering a solid selection of their own beers for a reasonable price. The interior, like essentially every brewery in this neighbourhood, is pretty bare bones, with communal tables and limited seating. Beer itself is about the best you’ll get in London. Enjoyable experience.
