Update 2: this place failed a bunch of health code insoections. Meat was unrefridgerated. Do not go! Update: I decided to give this place another shot a few weeks ago. Service was poor. Most beers on the list were not in. Then I recieved a beer I did not order because the one I asked for was out with out asking me if I wanted it. This place sucks. Old rate: Yeah, where to begin with this one? Well let’s start with the fact I sat at the bar, may not be the best choice with this place. It’s tough to interact with the bar tender. The taps block the whole bar so it’s tough to get their attention or hold even a modest conversation. Here was my view: http://i.imgur.com/mPbRNmw.png
Anyway, the tap list was large... But I could not see it from my seat and it was not in a menu form either. Like having a 20 inch dick but keeping to a life of celibacy. I did not eat but the menu was expansive. The vibe the place gives off is cool, open brick, tap handles galore, dusty beer glass hanging from ceiling, cool. I had two beers, then decided I needed to go somewhere else. I may return, but will not go out of my way for it.
This was the first stop during the RBWG, and it did not disappoint. The selection they had for our event was beyond amazing, and the service was good, as was the food and the value. This is a must stop!
Glad to spend a couple hours here on a recent biz trip. If I lived in Jacksonville, I’d want to be here all the time. Nice neighborhood vibe, eclectic clientele, unpretentious surroundings, and an absolutely massive tap list. Waiter was super cool, very knowledgeable and enthusiastic, and I’m happy I just went with dude’s recommendations throughout. Didn’t have any food besides some sweet potato fries, but my host assured me the menu was tip-top pub grub overall. Really impressed overall.
If you’re in Jacksonville, this place is a must, and that’s that.
A quaint little place that is a bit hard to find, and it’s nearby some sketchy areas, but it’s worth it, and you’re completely safe. Inside and outside there are tables with plenty of seating, etc. Everyone’s main complaint is that the taps are in the way of ordering from the bar. Well, when you have 84 taps, it’s hard to deal with, GET OVER IT. You do want the good beer, don’t you? It’s a small place, give ’em a break!
Our service was awesome. Both times I went, the owner (Steve) was around and hooked us up hardcore. He was amazing to us, and the waitresses and bartenders were fantastic as well.
The selection is one of the, if not the, best in Florida, so go there.
The food was really great. I only ate one of the times I was there, but the macaroni and cheese is awesome!
The value was pretty good. Average to slightly high food prices, and the beer prices are all average. Definitely not more expensive than other bars around Florida.
Overall, a place you must stop if in Jacksonville. Really a great place and if you let Steve know you’re coming (find him on BA), he’ll really take care of you!
This place has a ton of beers, including some macros, some imports, and a ton of craft beers. Nice menu with great appetizers, sandwiches and entrees. We were there when it was crazy busy but the service was still fast enough. This is a hell of a beer bar.
Typical restaurant/pub feel when you first walk in, with a pseudo-hipster vibe, and a beer lover’s backbone. Service was great; very knowledgeable considering how much was on tap. We even had seen our server earlier that day at Underdark release day. Selection was impressive to say the least; more than 80 beers on tap and a bottle list of rare and vintage stuff. Food was great, typical pub fare with a modern American swing. Value was average, what I expected to pay for what I ordered. Overall, a must stop on your way through Jacksonville.
When I visited: Late March 2014.
What I had: Over the course of two visits – New Belgium Spring Blonde, Stone Enjoy By IPA - 04-20-14, Intuition Ale Works Jon Boat Kolsch, Freigeist & Jester King Sauer Power, and New Belgium Rampant Imperial IPA on tap, Chicken Caesar Wrap with Fries, fish entree with salad, and several white wines for the Mrs.
What I liked: Fun and bustling atmosphere with a fairly diverse crowd, lots of space between tables, impressive tap list even during construction, our server was efficient, hilarious and made great drink recommendations, had an awesome chat with one of the locals at the bar, very reasonable prices.
What I disliked: Food left something to be desired but we had such a good time that we didn’t really mind.
Would I go back? Definitely, and I’m sure this place will be even better once the renos are done.
Overall Rating: 84
Place rating #100. Without any doubt this is the new Champ of beer bars. Fantastic food. 85 taps with a new Belgian beer pub expansion coming around new years with an additional 135 taps. The greatest bartender (Andrew) of all time. 600+ vintage bottle catalogue. Open 20 hours a day....this leads to Good Gourd at breakfast. Not one thing I can complain about!

Very casual....good beer and food. The selection has been scaled back due to a renovation project that has taken over their storage space. I’m basing my review on a previous visit which revealed an extensive selection.
Cool neighborhoody feeling place with an eclectic crowd. Its a sports bar, mixed with beer bar, with a side of bohemian charm. A little divey, in a good way. Service was prompt and friendly. Wide menu featuring some southernnfluences, seafood and pub grub. Also offered specials, everything at good prices. Great place to relax and enjoy some solid beers.
