2017 review: Returned with friends again, after giving numerous recommendations over the last several years. It was crowded, and we were treated like dirt / scum by the aggressive, rude staff on both floors of the restaurace part. Left without ordering anything after 30+ minutes of mindfuck. Score down from 74 to 60, and I should probably dump it down more. Really sad to see this become the worst cynical tourist trap in a way, while the beers are still so awesome (returned to get my no.6000 rating on my own, on my feet, at the brewery part, the brewer deserves that, the establishment, at least at this point, doesn't)...

2014 review: Returned with friends and encountered this really cool thing where they "resurrected" seasonals/specials for this weak around All Saints' Day. Had a great Black IPA, the only "survivor" since we were there on the last day. Enjoyed this visit too.

2009 review: Went there in early October with some friends for beers (and dessert) after some sightseeing around the castle and a lunch at the Klášterní Restaurace nearby. Was lucky enough to catch both the summer and the autumn seasonals at the same time (I guess). A nice place, warmed even on the outside. The beers were superb, the pear? pie or something similar I had (from their autumn menu) quite tasty. The location is quite nice too. All in all, I’ll be back, preferably for the other seasonals :) 5/7/9/8/7/15

Nice brewpub located in Hradcany. Friendly staff, good selection of their beers both on tap and in bottles. Worth a visit.

Latest visit on August 2nd, 2017.
Been here many times in the past from 2005 onward.
A favorite place to go still, albeit rather touristy.
I tend to take the tram to stop Pohorelec, then walk a short distance.
Don’t eat here very often, but the beers are well worth swinging by for. Got the indoors seating by the brew setup and bar, some outdoors seating, then down a few steps to a larger beer hall like area. This time sat outside. OK service, nice beers. I shall most likely return more times as well.

Older rating text from 2007, the only time it seems I bothered writing about it in the past from earlier visits:
Their beers are just about the best available in Prague! A must visit, though it might feel quite touristy. Good food and service.

Small brewpub with a couple of tables inside and a slightly larger patio / beergarden. Very stuffy inside, the brewing setup being located directly next to the bar, so sit outside when (and if) you can. Three regular beers and two seasonals on tap, usually of very high quality, though slightly pricier than most other places in town. Service is efficient and English is no problem. To avoid the climb up the hill take tram 22 to Pohorelec. Comparatively early opening hours are a plus and should be taken advantage of before the tourist hordes descend upon the place.
