Terrific store! Stopped in here on vacation, left with a heavy box and a lighter wallet. Nice selection of local and regional singles. I thought the pricing was fair. Website was great and very helpful prior to arrival.

A very nice selection of beer on the whole. I was looking for some Almanac Farmer’s Reserves and found them, as well as a surprise Heater Allen Pils, which blew my mind. The crowd is obnoxious wine snobbery and the staff was more or less useless to me. Prices are a nip high, but the selection is worth the visit.

Our first stop on the way down to SD. Actually heard about this place for the wine but not the beer, glad we made the stop to check it out. Tons of wine all over the place, it is a wine merchant after all. People milling around looking at different bottles, quite laid back. Quality was really high, as you would expect from a high end wine store. Service was good. I was asked once if I needed help, I didn’t tho, and the guy at the counter was nice to talk to as he rang us up. Selection was a little small compared to some of the other shops I have stopped at over the last two weeks but it made up for it with quality. I was able to pick up a limited Belgian I had been searching for as well as a new sour from Drake’s that sounds awesome, can’t wait to try it. Prices were a bit up and down but mostly they were all really well priced. Overall a great wine shop that has some awesome beers hiding in the back corner. Definitely worth the side trip to check out.

This place has everything. It’s slightly better than the SOMA Whole foods but not as good as City beer or healthy spirits. Obviously a general liquor store that has beer. Worth a visit as you’ll be surprised what you find.

Visited several times over the years, most recently in June 2013.

This is probably one of the better beer stores in the bay area for a number of reasons including that they’re not right off the freeway (so things don’t sell out quite so fast) and that they can ship to any of their locations. It’s a decently large store that is 95% wine but there are a half a dozen fridges full of beer. The first time I went in there they had a bunch of the (then new) 3 Fonteinen Hommage. I stupidly scrolled past it assuming it would be everywhere. Well it was, for about a week and then it was gone forever. Ugh. Live and learn I guess. They also get a ton of random stuff that you don’t see anywhere else, mostly obscure imports. In my more naive days I grabbed a few Italian imports that were all very mediocre and over priced. My complaints about this place include the somewhat limited selection (I know 200 is a lot but there are always things that I want that I can’t find here) and that only one person there knows anything about the beer. It’s been a few months since I’ve been in, probably time for another visit.

Almost forgot to mention: prices are kind of high.

Lots of help if needed. Good coverage for beer choices and varieties from around the USA. Different wines and single bottle alcohols not found in other stores as well, I’ll make this a regular stop !

Selection is not huge, but is certainly high impact, and about half of it is in coolers. Finally picked up some Hair of the Dog. Staff is friendly and knowledgable. Updated review - their website is their best feature. Inventory updated in near real time, and you can purchase online for hold at the store (or shipping to certain states). This has become my real go-to source in the bay area, with the biggest downfall being that their limited space means that they just don’t pick up some obvious beers that are distro’ed here. Otherwise, exceptional! Prices are a bit high, but I am happy to pay for the convenience of online shopping and in-store pickup. Be aware that, because of their online sales, some of the "hotter" beers never make it on the physical shelves.

Another great bay area beer store! It’s a bit out of the way for me, but I make a special effort to come here at least a couple times a year. They always seem to have something that I don’t see anywhere else even though the selection is pretty small. The stuff they do have is obviously thoughtfully picked out. The rest of the store is pretty large with a great selection of wine and spirits. They seemed to have quite a few people working there and they all seemed very happy to be there and asked me if I needed help several times. This was a big plus. Definitely stop by if you’re in the area.

I stopped in here after hearing such great things about the store and being in the area for the weekend. The store is definitely focused on wine, as it takes up the vast majority store. The beer section is just a few cooler doors. While the beer section is small, there are certainly some great offerings. I had a hard time limiting myself to the rather impressive purchases I made (easily could have spent much more money). Offerings from Drie Fonteinen, HaandBryggeriet, Cantillon, Valley, and plenty of other great breweries. The prices are pretty much standard, and while some items are pricey (like Drie Fonteinen Schaarbeekse Kriek at $40 for a 750), they are reasonable for the most part. I would easily recommend this place to anyone and I would definitely stop in again.
