Old town Bamberg, = brown, brown, brown. The place, the beer and food. Pork knuckle and Braunbier with tasty brownish sauce, yummy, beery, porky, goodness. Lots, of wood and cozy atmosphere. You can’t come to Bamberg and not go here, but that’s true of the other breweries in town as well (maybe not Kaiserdom though). I rank it tied for 3rd in the town brewery table (behind Mahrs and Spezial, but equal to Schlenkerla)

Visited 4.10.17. Nice and cozy afternoon drinks not far from the city center. Haven't been there last time and really, really enjoyed - the best of the traditional brewpubs in town IMHO.

In the great little enclave based around the lovely Hotel Nepomuk and its top rate Eckert’s restaurant. You cannot stay at the former and not come here. The 4 beers have improved since it was purchased by the town’s most commercial brewery, Kaiserdom, in 2016. Nice old Franconian tavern with scrubtop tables and a posh-relaxed ambience. Has to be done.

Visited Oct 2016. Really cosy place in the centre of town, with very traditional decor. Service here was the best / friendliest that we had of all the brewpubs in the centre of town. Had the Bockbier (good) and the Schwarzla (really good). We didn’t try the food. Prices good. Friendly service made us really want to come back. Would definitely recommend.

Large maze of rooms and cellars. Service friendly, fast, prices ok, beer selection was not that large, but not bad.

The oldest brewery in Bamberg, located in a beatiful building next to the river bank. Average beers, nothing remarkable, but a really enjoyable terrace when it is sunny.

Another classic experience among many in Bamberg. Selection is good, but there are one or two better breweries in the city. Not a bad choice to go, but also not a place that you would afraid of missing out.

Nicely located right next to the Regnitz and literally the building next to Eckerts. Their beers are standard, no revelations here. The rest is just like you expect from Franconia: nice service, cheap prices.
