Old town Bamberg, = brown, brown, brown. The place, the beer and food. Pork knuckle and Braunbier with tasty brownish sauce, yummy, beery, porky, goodness. Lots, of wood and cozy atmosphere. You can’t come to Bamberg and not go here, but that’s true of the other breweries in town as well (maybe not Kaiserdom though). I rank it tied for 3rd in the town brewery table (behind Mahrs and Spezial, but equal to Schlenkerla)
Visited Oct 2016. Really cosy place in the centre of town, with very traditional decor. Service here was the best / friendliest that we had of all the brewpubs in the centre of town. Had the Bockbier (good) and the Schwarzla (really good). We didn’t try the food. Prices good. Friendly service made us really want to come back. Would definitely recommend.
Another classic experience among many in Bamberg. Selection is good, but there are one or two better breweries in the city. Not a bad choice to go, but also not a place that you would afraid of missing out.

Nicely located right next to the Regnitz and literally the building next to Eckerts. Their beers are standard, no revelations here. The rest is just like you expect from Franconia: nice service, cheap prices.
Ambiance - Traditional German brewpub. Fairly crowded on an early Saturday afternoon but we found some space at a table that was reserved for later. Service - Fair but not very interested. Selection - Had a few of their own beers on tap. Not very impressed by their quality though. Food - Did not eat. Value - Fair but not really worth it considering the beer quality. Additional comments - None!
Kinda nice traditional place with a big patio. We ant inside for their beers. Kinda liked them, but the dunkel was of few beers this weekend that didn’t live up to the Bamberg-standard. With a visit since its located really close to Schlenkerla.
