Cellar restaurant near town square. Ok service, English is understood. Selection is basically non existent, 5 macros on tap. Prices are ok for that part of the city. No unfiltered Urquell. Overall: the only reason to go there is food, which was quite cheap.

Basement, dark, atmospheric oldey-timey place. Literally a "krcma". Got in there to wait for friends who were visiting at a museum to remind myself how the unfiltered Urquell tasted like. I likely ended up being an ass as I got a table to drink, but we decided we'd try to lunch there, and I couldn't catch a waiter to ask if it was alright to occupy it for a meal too before they arrived .Pretty much perfect, professional service with good English, something we learned to appreciate a lot these last several days, as the combo is not nearly as common as it should be. Props. Well, we were allowed to stay I guess. and I do hope we didn't ruin someone's reservation. Anyway... my friends' tradicional duck dish with cumin & red cabbage was fantastic, while my medallions with cheese and cranberries were just okay but disappointingly small (wasn't really convinced it was 200g, but hey, might be), with average fries. One desert was great too, the other a mess (supposedly some apple thing with cream, ended up being a strange mess with something tasting like mustard, something without filling and no apple in sight... But when things were great here, they were fantastic. I'd return, maybe, with a reservation that time though. :) All in all, not a proper, sure, beer place, but unique enough to warrant visiting at least once. And do order the duck. :D

The forgotten basement café in a tiny street hidden behind a church... Looked spooky.... Smoking and nonsmoking room. Pubbish wooden cellar café. Meal served in two (!) minutes! Yeezes that was fast food. Clean sladku beer. Other taps had urquells. Local secret in Stare Mesto.

Worth a visit in a medieval basement food is authentic and local. Ambiance is amazing. Selection is limited but typical Czech. Worth a visit for a true local experience, just keep in mind that variety is not the norm in Europe.
