I was told that I must go to Kroger in Wheeling to find good beers at a great price because I live in PA. Well, I found neither a good selection of beers or good prices. I won’t return here for micros or imports.

new rating 12/2016: This place is much improved, they now have a great mixer sixer for $9.99 and I was easily able to find a quick 6 of beers I never had. Nice improvement oblebay. We stopped there recently to see the oglebee lights at holidays but was disappointment in the light show. However, I was glad we went because we got to into this much improved friendly down home grocery store on the way out. They also had lots of down home style food there as well. Very happy we stopped, we got some really good homemade hard crusted multigrain bread that was simply dee-lish! Good improvement on service as well. .....old rating. 7/2010: This place was a very disappointing experience. I went out of my way to go to this place because the previous rater said they had mountaineer beers here. Well, not any more. i couldn’t even find anybody there to ask a question about if they had some. None in the typical sixpack display. On top of this, they had the interstate route 70 closed for construction. What a big cluster. Yea they do have many sixpacks of common micros and afew exports but over all Ithink this place should be removed from the places listing of ratebeer. Piss me off, wasted trip.

Revised Dec 2011 - Just the typical beer selection for a Kroger store. No longer worth a stop. Revised rating to reflect the lack of an easily accessible WV beer.

A typical Kroger store. I only rated this due to the fact that it is easily accessible from I-70 on trips through WV and they stock a couple Mountaineer Brewing Company beers. Thus making it easier to get that first West Virginia beer without too much trouble.
