I really liked this place and as an American it is very much what i expect of a British pub. Several Fullers beer, as well as their Gales lineups. It was a packed building and uncomfortably warm inside, which was fine for the large crowd that was happy to drink in the street. Food offered but i did not see it. Wood paneling and beer decoration, as well as other random things on the walls. I would definitely recommend this place. Service was friendly by the way, and the even though it was busy, the bar man took extra time to correct my beer when the pour did not look proper to him.

Absolutely a place to vist. Tradition lives and breathes within these walls. Not very far from Covent Garden tube station. Mostly Fullers beers, but they had some decent bottles in the fridge. Topp ambiance. Can be a bit crowded.

Visited on 16th Jan 2016. Popped in for a pint and a warm on a Saturday afternoon, hidden away just off Covent Garden this is a lovely old pub. Small rooom with dark wood panelling. Seats at a premium but did manage to get a couple after a short wait. Beer range was a decent selection of Fullers/Gales beers plus a guest from Sambrooks. Fridge was well stocked with Fullers bottles too. Service was decent, prices OK. It’s not a beer destination but is a decent Fullers pub and handy for a quick refreshment stop whilst sampling the hustle and bustle of Covent Garden

Located in a quiet back street very close to the bustling Covent Garden. Since we came in early afternoon there were not many people inside. Traditional pub interior. Decent selection of Fullers beers, if I recall correctly there were 6 casks. Food was OK, nothing spectacular.

Cozy place in Covent Garden. Really old style pub with a decent range of Fullers beers. Tap list outside Fullers is kinda poor. Good service and nice atmosphere.

Full score på overall for denne puben som var hitchcock sin favoritt, og som er et must for alle beer hunters med sans for den engelske pubtradisjon. Og Fullers fra håndpumpe smaker nesten alltid sublimt.

Even before you get into this pub the setting makes it really atmospheric. The pub is sandwiched amongst dense buildings in the narrow cobble streets of old London town. There’s even an adjoining public alleyway running underneath the pubs upper level. Inside it not a disappointment and it is a well kept traditionally English pub which is densely packed with furniture and patrons given the lacks of space over two floors. There’s no outside area but on a busy night the patrons will spill out on to the streets which are barely used by vehicles in the evening. Fullers ales are served.

I have heard about this place and found my way through a alley with great expectations. Went in and thought it was closed first, since the pub was almost empty (I was early though). Ordered a pint from a nice barman who offered my tastings from 5 hand pumps, and sat down in a old historic pub. All seemed to be nice at that point. Then I was smelling a rather strange smell as earlier reviewers has pointed out. I went a bit disappointed.

The oldest tavern in Covent Garden. It’s a must see and try something local, maybe a seasonal, but looks pretty crappy and smells awful inside. But still acceptable for real beer lover :) Some restoration needed. Service is poor, but that’s UK, you have to take care for yourself.
