Just a few blocks from the Birrificio, and as luck would have it, two blocks from my B&B, I have no idea how that happened. The large crowd drinking out front is a dead give away, and the outdoor drinking space is much large and more formal here than at the Birrificio, with tables on a covered sidewalk patio. Inside there is a long bar with some bar tables and then a whole lot more restaurant tables, more modern, more organized, and therefore less characterful than the other location. They still have free food until 8, so it was packed with students, and there was a mass exodus at 8:05. That left plenty of tables for a meal - and what a meal! I had homemade pasta and then probably the best lamb I’ve ever had. Once again, the staff speaks English, but they were very patient in speaking Italian with me as well. Larger draft selection here with three beer engines also, and even some bottles and cans. Well worth a visit.
Returned at lunchtime to find a much quieter place, but with the same tasty beers of course, and delicious pasta. Another nice time to try this place.
The place was full of people. Also loads of people drinking beer in front of the pub. Most of the tables were for customers who wanted to order some food, so if you just drink beer you can’t use them. However, there were some place on the counter. When we arrived, some free food was served on the counter. I was told by the bartender that I could eat it if I want. After shot time the food was removed. I don’t know what was going on :). They served only their own beer and one had very vast selection of beers; tap beer as well as bottles.
I think that there should be more bartenders because those who were there didn’t manage to do all the job fast. So one had to wait quite a while before being served.
All in all, if you and in Milan and you want to try Lambrate beer, I will definitely recommend this place!
Visited a friday afternoon around 1.00, place was full, but we found a place at the bar until there was a free table for us. Even though busy service here was nice, friendly and efficient. About 15 taps of Lambrate beers, including a few handpumps. Some bottles asweel. Dont think they normally do samplers, but i was given a tray with small pours of the last 8 beers or so after ticking my way though the first half. Beers was well made and covers a nice spectre of styles. Had some salat and chicken for lunch wich was nice. Good prices and overall a nice place to have a beer. Ill like to return.
