Neat old building, looks lived in and well worn. Nice odd shaped copper top and wooden bar. Brewhouse off to one side. Lots of seasonal offerings, some of which were tasty enough, nothing overly exciting. Decent app specials during happy hour. Servers seemed a bit busy but were friendly enough. Parking lot is small and often full, and there’s not much street parking. A decent stop if you’re in the general area.
July 2007 - Return visit after many years. Stopped by for an after-lunch draft. Service was very friendly and johnny-on-the-spot. Beers were good, too. Didn’t eat. Would definitely visit again when in the area.
Located in what looks like an old warehouse that they installed a micro-brewery in and then took the rest of it and made it into a restaurant. When the bar area gets loud, it gets very loud indeed. They had 9-10 things on tap and they mix together the Strawberry wheat and the Lancaster Milk stout and call it a Chocolate covered strawberry, Word to the wise, if you order a sampler they will give you 12 6oz. beers so pace yourself, i.e. an entire Phillies game, or bring a DD. Also it costs $18 which means its dinner as well. Most of the beers were solid. I can’t recall any that utterly sucked. I though the Hop Hog and the Hefe were at the head of the class. As for ambiance it definitely has a neighborhood bar kind of vibe to it although if I saw one more hefe being served with an orange, I was going to scream very, very loudly.
Located in a big old industrial warehouse. I loved the ambience here because of that and also because my table was right above the brew kettle. Everything else was fairly mediocre. I didn’t eat. Service was slightly above average. The sampler was HUGE... 12 5 ounce samplers for $14... not bad for 60 ounces of beer, but they didn’t let me get a smaller sampler which was lame. The beer was OK... a couple above average, most average and one was completely foul. Overall, a decent stop, but not great.
Lancaster is a middle class small city of 100,000 that has some conferences and is a throughfare for other travellers on the I-95. . Not much to do in the town, but now that there is an Iron Hill, it will likely get even more traffic. The place is a decent size, though most patrons by 9 pm were drinking outside. The basement was where I was for the homebrew monthly meeting. Everyone said hello which shows you the quality of life makes up for a lot of big city ammenities. The beers were about the same quality as the bottles, average. Service was friendly and alert without being meddling. Decor was alright.
We came here on 17.4.2017. Two story red bricked building with a nice beer garden. I am not the biggest fan of their beers, but liked the overall ambience. Very friendly service and we enjoyed sitting outside on a warm spring evening. Was quite packed for a Monday evening.
Rough hewn plank floors, high ceilings and lots of natural light. It’s kind of a rough-around-the-edges, but ultimately friendly type of place. I was stuffed from an earlier meal, so I didn’t eat, but my family enjoyed everything they had. We were in a bit of a rush and the server made sure that we got out on time, which was a nice touch. The beers are serviceable, but many of the lagers taste virtually identical. Highlights were the milk stout and the IPA, which is much better on tap than in the bottles. Great prices and a great place to come down a few and enjoy some tasty pub food.
A nicely rebuilt old warehouse building with wooden plank floors. The brewery protrudes the restaurant floor. Quite noisy. 8 beers on draft ranging from poor to OK. I had an OK steak, and the service was OK.

Definitely worth a stop if you're visiting Amish country or outlet shopping. Several beers on tap and bottles available to take out. Decent pub/restaurant fare. Dining area overlooks lower level brewery operation. During a quiet lunch, I chatted with the brewer (was a weekday). Samplers available.
