More of a restaurant than a bar - most people seem to come here for the food, which is bavarian tapas-style. The food is good but some of the plates are a bit pricey for the portion size. There are a few main meals on the menu also however, which seem better value for money. There were three beers when we went - a pils, a weizen and a dunkel. The dunkel was really good and the weizen very dec
ent also. Service was good. Atmosphere is cozy. Worth a visit for the food but probably not worth going out of your way for the beer.
Visited 19.04.2014. Even though the place is more a proper restaurant than a pub you can go there, sit at bar and drink only beer. The staff was friendly and especially the owner of the place was chatty and wanted to talk about the beers they have. This a place I’d happily visit again and I surely would like to taste the food. It looked delicious.
Easy to reach with the U-Bahn. Place is more of a restaurant than just a sit down have a beer type of place. Modern feel and not much in terms of Bavarian atmosphere.
I was excited at the idea of Bavarian tapas, and the food was as expected. Had two tapas which ended up being quite filling. The menu also sports a good half of vegetarian dishes with many offerings that I found had not much to do with typical Bavarian food ... curry date tapas?
Two house beers avail, good but nothing ground breaking, service was ok and prices were fair.
Visited 21/12-2012. After a bit of a walk ( partly because we walked in the wrong direction ) we finally found the rigth spot, just to find out that it was only for invited guests.. But I talked him into letting us try his beers, since we had come all the way from Denmark... :-) And it was a pleasure, beers wellserved and the staff very friendly. Nice and clean pub, we will be back another time for a revisit..
Stumbled on the place on the way to the nearby Metzer Eck, which is itself a great old corner bar. For those of you who don’t know Bavarian food (and specifically Bavarian, not ‘German’), this is a chance to experience it in tiny portions (so, tapas). Clean and strong flavors, fresh. I’d call the beers the best in this part of town (probably all of Prenzlberg), and even the espresso was done right (a relief considering the crap that some of the nearby trendy places put out). Server was great.
Not that much a brewpub, this is a German Tapas restaurant that has their own beers. The beers run very slow, you can get growler... I wonder how long it would take to fill a 2L growler.... The beers is good, food looks good.... don’t eat the skin if you get the white sausage in a bowl of water......
