I love this bar, it has a great selection of beers, and the staff is very knowledgeable.
Can get busy on Fridays and Saturdays, so you might want to visit it another day, if you dont like the crowds. It’s a dive bar, where your allowed to smoke. The smoke isnt too overpowering. Prices arent the cheapest. Park in the lot across from the bar down the alley and you’ll be fine, never been towed. Usually one bar tender and two on busy days, the bar is just a little to small for three.
Music is great, just good old songs and none of some of those annoying songs you hear all the time, or songs were you question, who the hell played that.
Some of my best (late) college memories came from this place! I had my first Blue Moon here and it was in a bottle WAY, WAY, WAY before it was ever mainstream as well as most other craft beers. This place is a must see for all FSU students once they posess a real ID and a few more dollars than what is required at most FSU bars. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THIS PLACE AND HAVE GREAT, FOND MEMORIES HERE! A WHITLOCK LOVE YOU, MEAN IT ; )
Awesome selection of beer. A ton of bottles and taps. Me the owner - great fellow, super nice. Doesn’t look like much on the outside. A bit of a hole in the wall, but isn’t that what you expect from a great beer bar?

This place is my favorite dive. The dart board is never crowded (although it is getting a bit worn nowadays), and the fact that they allow smoking is a big plus for me. Plus, they have places to charge your phone if it runs out of battery. Very useful. Parking can be a hassle, but within walking distance down sixth street there is public parking for The Wine Loft etc..
Also, one cannot forget the beer selection. There are SO MANY to choose from, from all around the world. This bar has around 30 drafts and hundreds of bottles. It would be pretty hard to get tired of any particular style here; for example I could drink a different IPA each time I come and forget what the first one tasted like by the time I try them all!
The bartenders are very helpful and knowledgeable. It can be overwhelming trying to decide what to drink, but the servers will know whats best and help you find it.
tl;dr: Smoking is allowed, amazing selection, helpful bartenders.
Leon Pub is a dive bar....with 200+ beers available. Normally, places this dank would serve only pabst, millwaukee’s best, or strohs (the owners favorite beer). So its quite suprising to see a beer menu that takes about a half hour to read. The jukebox is firmly locked into the late 70’s, but at least you’ll be safe from hearing Justin Timberlake. The parking woes have eased a bit since the Dunken Donuts closed.
I love a good dive bar, and that’s exactly what you get walking into Leon Pub. A little bit dingy, a little cramped, of course they allow smoking, and there are all sorts of locals hanging out, trying to escape the college scene the rest of the town has. A great selection, somewhere north of 35 taps, depending on what is in stock, with a few that rotate and a few that never do. Also, well over 150 bottles in the 6 doors worth of coolers. Prices are relatively average, but you might expect them to be cheaper considering the ambiance. I’ve only ever been on weekdays, so I can’t say how crowded it gets on a busy bar night. Knowledgeable enough staff, but not the biggest of beer geeks - one tried to offer me Sweetwater 420 as an IPA on draft. A decent place to get a pint at a bar that isn’t infested with a whole lot of college kids.
Oh Leon Pub, you dirty dive bar how I love you. I cannot walk out of that place without smelling like a cigarette. Probably 30 taps, a nice bottle list, prices reasonable. No food. A dive with decent beer. Great vintage signs all over the place. A must stop, even for the curiosity factor.

This is the only place to go in Tallahassee if you are a (somewhat) serious beer drinker. You will hear the same David Bowie songs on the jukebox, see only one bartender with, perhaps, a cute girl cleaning up the glasses. However, you will also find find a very nice (200-ish) selection of bottles and, I suppose, about 30-40 beers on tap.
The Leon Pub. I used to live here before proof opened. I still do go back from time to time for a change of pace and its always the same. Its a dive bar with a crazy atmosphere and knowledgeable staff with a great selection. I smoke so I think that its awesome you can smoke inside lol but for those of you who it bothers., they did clear out one of the rooms next door an now there are a number of tables and chairs in there to sit at and most of the smoke stays at the other side of the bar. Lots of taps 35 or so an a bottle selection of about 100+/-. Healthy mix of Euro stuff and american craft. Prices are average for almost everything but theres always some oddly expensive stuff and oddly cheap stuff. The MENU here never changes but the taps do. Oh and parking kinda sucks.
I used to go to The Leon a few times a week when I was in Tally. It’s been years. What PorterPounder mentioned about towing....VERY TRUE. They got me once. Then they got me again another time when I parked at a nearby Dunkin Donuts. Tiny as mentioned, but it has immense character and a great selection. It sounds like the selection has actually grown from when I was there, but that is only a good thing.
