I made a special point to get to this place. I’ve found good beer in Denver/Boulder, but I’m always dissapointed with the selection of Belgian beers and the lack of anybody to answer a question about anything...I’m glad I made it here...I did really want to meet Nick as well. I was stoked with the selection of Belgian beers here...I got a beer that a person told me in Denver, I must be mistaken, I couldn’t have bought St. Feuillien Noel...and getting 10% off already decent prices for getting 6 75cl bottles is icing on the cake. If you can get here, this is the place I recomend for beer in CO...plenty of American & CO specialties as well. And a family feel.
Was told Liquor Max was just out of Denver - I must be too European, because a 45 minute drive is not "just out of town" for me. But the drive was well worth the effort. The selection is huge, very well assorted in both American and European beers. I even brought home two seldom European beers, that I haven’t seen on my trips in Europe. Besides the great selection, what makes this place special is the excellent advice from Nick.
The best beer store in Northern Colorado. Fort Collins has Wilbur’s, but for a real selection and some new recommendations from Nick, a trip to loveland is a must. There is always a special, and the 10% discount on mixed 6-packs makes the prices competitive. Don’t miss!
Becoming one of the best stores in Colorado. With Total Beverage treading water the last 6 months, and Liquor Mart offering few and seemingly random new things each month (no beer geek behind the ordering, obviously), things are getting bleak in Boulder/Denver. Thankfully Nick and Liquor Max are taking up the slack and offering some SERIOUS brews. Huge thumbs up.
I’m rating this as totally exceptional because of where it is. Little Loveland, CO is not a bastion of anything food-related: Total suburban, fickle, Valastic pickle, corporate restaurant taste. Butt-hay, I digress...
First, the competition is nil. Other stores may offer a few common domestics micros, but make no effort to sell the customer. At LiqMax you get personal service because they’re hungry for customers. They NEED me is the way I feel when I go in there. Damn, that’s a nice feeling in a retail bus. I’ve been to LiqMax a couple dozen times, and have always had a friendly conversation with the operators about beer. 95% of the time they approach me, and start rapping about beer. Select a 6-er of singles and get a 10% discount is great, and unique to this area. Again, makes me feel special. The selection evolves too which is dynamite. There is nothing in the region that can touch the suds coming out of LiqMax. LiqMax has made me a better beer drinker. Their selection spans the globe. It’s been life-altering here in Loveland. Thanks Jeff, who started me down the path of righteous beer.
Thanks Nick, who continues to enlighten my beer path.

Nice selection. Not as many beers as Supermarket Liqours, but the quality of the beers they have is much better overall. Also the store is very clean and well lit. I would like to see all of the beers in the coolers though. Looks like they are getting a website ready and really pay attention to what the customers want. Good place.
Stopped here on Aubrey’s recommendation. Nice selection of locals, Belgians, and other top notch breweries. Nick is a great guy and definitely does his homework. He provides great service and is always looking for new things and current trends in popular beers.
From I-25, head west on 34 a few miles. After you pass a Wal-Mart on your left, look for Liquor Max on your right. Selection is easily within the top-three liquor stores in Colorado, which says a lot. You’ll probably even find beers here that aren’t available anywhere else in Colorado, thanks to Nick’s beer savvyness (is that a word?). At any rate, when perusing, ask for Nick ... or you might find him caring for and waxing the bottles on the shelves. When you enter the place, you get a sense that a beer geek is running things. I highly recommend a stop here.
